Meghan Apparently Jealous Of Kate As Friend Spills The Beans On Her Private Chats

Meghan Markle is sorry that she is not Kate Middleton, according to a close friend who gave the interview to the Daily Mail. She is apparently sour that if she was the Duchess of Cambridge, not Sussex, the whole royal family would have helped her from the hunt-down of the tabloid papers.

‘[Meghan said] no one would have put up with it, and the broken and outdated system would have been revised. Those outlets responsible for their vicious attacks would have been shut out,’ the friend explained.

This comes as Harry and Meghan announced last week that there would be ‘no corroboration and zero engagement’ with four UK tabloids as there surely will be no good coming out from talking with these papers. The anonymous friend said: ‘Meghan said no one in the royal family should be surprised with the announcement.

”If Kate was being criticized no one would put up with it.’ Bitter Meghan tells friends the palace favored her sister-in-law and would have attacked the UK tabloids if she were the one relentlessly picked on to protect his family. Meghan said Harry needed to take a stand for her, their son and his mother. [If it was Kate who kept being ]constantly criticized and needlessly bashed(…) changes within the royal’s media policy would have been made. No questions asked.’

Prince Harry had obviously tried to stop this from happening by talking in depth with Prince Charles and HRH Queen Elizabeth II personally, but Meghan sighed that it had been to no avail.  ‘[Meghan] said it was infuriating that Harry’s very real and valid concerns fell on deaf ears. Meghan said they made it seem like this is the way it is, deal with it. Harry had been dealing with it far too long. She said he wasn’t going to let this destroy her life and their marriage.’

The friend went on to elaborate: ‘Meghan said when she was living in England, she was being bullied by the media non-stop and Harry knew he had to do something dramatic to protect her and the family. She said she was being treated unfairly and picked on for everything she did including rubbing her belly too much when she was pregnant. She said there was no way she was going to go through motherhood being criticized for every little thing she did. She said she told Harry that it was only going to get worse, It was a no win situation and the only solution was to take control of their own lives.

‘Harry needed to take a stand for her, their son and his mother. Meghan said Harry made it crystal clear that they could not function in good faith under the current system… and that if it wasn’t revised and updated to their liking, they would have no other choice than to break from the royal family. She said no one took his pleas seriously, so they had to take the issue into their own hands. This was about protecting the family and doing right by Princess Diana. She said the British tabloids have haunted Harry since childhood and should have been kicked out of the media pool long ago. The system is broken and Harry wanted to fix it. She said he needed to take a stand and now they are doing it together.’

Meghan says changes would’ve been made if Kate Middleton was being bashed in the press | Daily Mail Online

Meghan Markle has told friends that  if Kate Middleton was constantly being criticized by the press, the royal family would have stepped in and changed its media policies and shunned the tabloids, an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com.

‘[Meghan said] no one would have put up with it, and the broken and outdated system would have been revised. Those outlets responsible for their vicious attacks would have been shut out,’ the friend explained.

The Duchess, 37, firmly believes if the tables were turned and her sister-in-law had been subject to the same treatment, ‘changes would have been made’.

Last week the Sussexes announced they would have ‘no corroboration and zero engagement’ with four UK tabloids, including the Daily Mail, citing Meghan’s poor treatment.

Although palace aides said everyone was stunned by the move, the friend said: ‘Meghan said no one in the royal family should be surprised with the announcement.

Harry went to his father Prince Charles and his grandmother the Queen ‘constantly’ about Meghan being bullied, but they ‘wouldn’t do anything to change the protocol’, despite seeing ‘how it was tearing him apart,’ according to the source.

In January, Meghan and Harry stunned the world when they announced they would be quitting their royal duties, become financially independent and split their time between North America and England.

However, they quickly moved to Los Angeles last month when Canada announced it would be closing its borders to the US.

Over Easter weekend, the royal couple were seen volunteering with Project Angel Food, dropping off food to LA locals who are critically ill and are at a greater risk amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

A source said they both were down to earth and Meghan told her inner circle that it felt good to finally be out and about connecting with people.

‘Meghan and Harry were really down-to-earth. Meghan had been looking for an organization to get behind and says Project Angel Food is the perfect fit. She plans on volunteering much more with Harry,’ the friend said.

They went under-the-radar in dressed down clothes while delivering meals to 20 people, seen in exclusive DailyMail.com photos waving to a man after handing over bags of food.

The source added: ‘Some people didn’t recognize them at first and others were just completely shocked. One elderly woman actually started to cry and said she had always been a fan and had always wanted to meet them, and then welcomed them to their new life in America.’

Earlier this week, it was revealed Meghan Markle branded her father Thomas Markle a liar in court papers and denied she knew her influential friends planned to reveal details of her deteriorating relationship with him to People magazine.

Text messages revealed in new court documents claim Meghan and Harry tried to protect Thomas Markle in the days leading up to their wedding while he was forced to drop out of the lavish Windsor Castle wedding due to his failing health.

Meghan also states Thomas Markle did not answer truthfully when asked if had colluded with a photographer to stage pictures of him in the weeks leading up to the May 2018 ceremony.

She also maintains she was unaware that five close friends had chosen to intervene in the growing public debate about her relationship with her father by giving interviews to People magazine for an article published in February 2019.

Harry and Meghan will release new photo of Archie to mark his first birthday | Entertainment Daily

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will reportedly release a new photo of their son Archie on his first birthday.

The royal tot will celebrate his first birthday on May 6 and royal fans will be hoping to see a glimpse of the toddler.

Now, a royal correspondent has revealed the couple will choose to share a picture of Archie with the world.

Roya Nikkhah tweeted at the weekend: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will give the world a rare glimpse of their son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor next month when they publicly mark his first birthday on May 6th.”

The couple confirm the news

A spokesperson for Meghan and Harry confirmed to The Sunday Times: “You can expect to see him.”

The couple last shared a photo of their son on New Year’s Eve.

The family have been living in Los Angeles since stepping back from their senior royal roles on March 31.

The couple announced their decision back in January, explaining they want to become “financially independent”.

The couple married at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May 2018 and the ceremony was broadcast to millions across the world.

However, Meghan and Harry already want to renew vows in an “intimate, barefoot” ceremony in America.

A source has told Heat magazine: “This will symbolise a brand-new start for them both practically and spiritually.

“They both love the idea of an intimate, barefoot ceremony overlooking the ocean – a little like Meghan’s first wedding [to Trevor Engleson], but without all the fanfare and partying.

“Of course, it risks upsetting the royals, but this fresh start is important to both of them.”

Prince Charles to pay $2.5M for Harry and Meghan’s security costs

Prince Harry is getting his dad to fork over $2.5 million per year toward his post-Megxit US security costs that sparked a diplomatic spat with President Trump, according to a report.

Trump sternly insisted Harry and wife Meghan Markle “must pay” for their own security after jetting into their new life in California — with the couple insisting that “privately funded security arrangements have been made.”

Those arrangements are being fronted by Harry’s dad, the UK’s 71-year-old heir to the throne, Prince Charles, a royal source told the Daily Mail.

“Charles has agreed to pay a ‘private contribution’ to the Sussexes. It will not be revealed how much and what that is used for, but it is believed to be around £2 million,” the source said of what equates to just under $2.5 million.

“However, the Prince of Wales does not have an infinite amount of money,” the source said — while conceding his annual income from his private estate, the Duchy of Cornwall, is around $26 million.

Page Six first reported on Friday that the couple left their $14 million bolthole in Canada and took a private jet with baby Archie to the Los Angeles area before the borders were closed amid the coronavirus crisis.

Meghan’s mother Doria lives in Los Angeles, and the 38-year-old former “Suits” star grew up there.

Their security bill is likely to be even higher than first thought because British cops are unable to carry guns in the US, meaning the couple needs to hire private guards, the Mail says.

Buckingham Palace refused to comment on the report nor whether it meant UK taxpayers would no longer have to contribute towards any future bill, the Mail said.

Meghan ‘trying to land a role as a Hollywood superhero in blockbuster film’ | Entertainment Daily

It’s been reported that Meghan Markle wants to land a role as a Hollywood superhero in a blockbuster film.

The former actress is apparently keen to get back to work after she and husband Prince Harry announced they would be stepping back from the royal family.

According to a source, Meghan’s agent Nick Collins has been busy trying to secure her an offer.

The insider told the Mail On Sunday: “He has said she wants her return to acting to be part of an ensemble cast in something like a superhero film He’s actively seeking such a movie for her. He’s saying she is available and open to the best offers.

“Meghan is planning a series of meetings in Hollywood. She has already done the voiceover for Disney and now word is out that she’s looking for a superhero film, as a voiceover or even on screen.

“She knows she can’t carry a film as an actress. People won’t be able to get past the fact she’s Meghan Markle. But she’s determined to act again and she thinks a big, ensemble film is the way to go… something that pays big but which doesn’t put her front and centre.”

Earlier this year, it was reported that Meghan had signed a voiceover deal with Disney.

She inked a deal to work with Disney in return for a donation to an elephant charity, according to The Times.

Meghan, 38, was believed to have recorded her voiceover in November, before she and Harry, 35, left the UK for a six-week break in Canada with their son Archie.

Meghan has been in Canada for the past month with Harry and their nine-month-old son Archie.

Harry recently returned to Britain to attend engagements while Meghan stayed in Canada to look after their little boy.

Game Over For Meghan & Harry, Queen Blows Up Their Money-Making Scam

Queen Elizabeth II is taking no prisoners, even if that means taking a stand against her own misguided grandson. Meghan Markle and her kowtowed husband Prince Harry are waking up to devastating news on Wednesday. The British Monarch took the unprecedented move of dropping a nuclear bomb right on the leftist duo’s money-making scam, and it’s game over for poor Meghan and Harry. Don’t miss this.

Meghan Markle is a former D-list actress who set her sights on Queen Elizabeth’s grandson. Within a few months, Markle had grifted her way into Harry’s world, but her end game was a sinister plot to use the British Monarchy as her brand in a money-making scheme.

The Queen just dropped a nuclear bomb on Meghan’s scheme.

Markle’s scam of the British Monarchy always hinged on one thing: trademarking various brands as “Royal.” Months before Meghan and Harry revealed they were leaving the Royal Family, the American grifter had already started scooping up various domains like “sussexroyal.com” where she planned to sell goods and services.

Back in March 2019, Meghan had hired Bill and Hillary Clinton former adviser Sara Latham. Meghan was ready to use the Clinton Foundation as her template in building a “pay for play” type organization. Markle would turn the British Monarchy’s “royal brand” into something that was up for sale to the highest bidder.

So, like a bad actress, Meghan cried on British TV last October that she was barely holding up. It seems her life as a duchess in one of the world’s wealthiest families was just so overwhelming. Of course, this was a perfectly timed interview. Then, after the holidays, the dastardly duo makes their move to divorce themselves from the Royal Family.

However, they wanted their cake and to eat it too.

Meghan and Harry made it clear they wanted to leave the United Kingdom and have no responsibilities as a working Senior Royal. But they still wanted all the perks. The press attention was off the charts, and so the Queen smartly gave them enough rope to hang themselves. In January, she took their “resignation” but said the “final details” would take some time to be determined.

Then, Her Majesty waited and watched to see what Meghan and Harry would do. Well, when Harry took a speaking gig with JP Morgan and started talks with Goldman Sachs as “the first steps by the Prince to land lucrative gigs on the paid speaking circuit,” that was all she needed to see.

Along with Meghan’s hardcore “woke” political stances, the Queen saw the writing on the wall. The leftist duo would be engaged in promoting their hypocritical causes. Meghan and Harry have a habit of lecturing us about climate change while grifting private jet rides from their celebrity friends.

The biggest issue to be determined surrounded the use of the coveted brand as “royal.” This was the linchpin to all of Meghan’s plans. The former cable TV actress had been making plans to use “royal” for at least 18 months, and without it, poor Meghan and Harry would have nothing to pimp out to the public.

Well, the Queen’s final answer is that the British Monarchy’s brand is not for sale.

“Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be moving forward in their new life without a valuable part of their brand, with the Queen and other senior palace officials reportedly agreeing that the couple will no longer be able to keep the word ‘royal’ as a part of their brand,” Page Six reports.

“Maybe they can trademark ‘certified former royal’?” Page Six adds.

According to the Daily Mail, the two had hoped to leverage “Sussex Royal” into not just a new website but a “global trademark for a range of items and activities, including clothing, stationery, books and teaching materials” and a new charitable organization with the name.

“Queen BANS Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from using lucrative ‘Sussex Royal’ brand that they hoped to use to build new lives because ‘they simply cannot sell themselves as Royals’” Daily Mail’s headline blared.

Royal watchers including British citizens are behind the Queen banning Meghan and Harry from using her brand in seedy money-making schemes.

“Quite right too. If you don’t want to do the duty, you don’t get to exploit the royal label to make money,” tweeted Piers Morgan.

Meghan’s cadre of devotees is livid. Some are going as far as to say the Queen is racist.

That’s the typical leftwing response to anything that does not go their way. Meghan feels entitled to destroy the brand of a 1,000-year Monarchy, and if you don’t see it her way, well, then you must be a racist.

Shame on anyone making these ridiculous accusations of racism. And shame on Prince Harry for going along with Meghan’s scheme that must be devastating to his elderly grandparents. Harry will rue the day he allowed a viper in the royal family, and with his grandparents both in their 90s, we can only hope he comes to his senses before it’s too late to make amends.

Meghan reveals her demands for Valentine’s Day and Prince Harry will have to be on his game | Entertainment Daily

Before meeting and marrying Prince Harry, Meghan Markle revealed what her ideal Valentine’s Day would be.

The mum-of-one previously wrote on her former blog The Tig in 2015 that she would love to wake up to “breakfast in bed” as she’s a “sucker” for the romantic day.

She wrote: “Hook, line and sinker, I am such a sucker for Valentine’s Day.

“Without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I’m immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss.

“This is all happening in black and white, of course.

“And in terms of gifts, be it breakfast in bed, a sweet love note, or a single flower, it really is the thought that counts.”

Meghan and Harry recently stepped back from royal life and have been spending time in Canada with their son Archie.

It was recently reported that the former actress is enjoying a quieter life spent doing yoga and cooking food for Archie.

According to the Mail Online, a source said: “Meghan has no regrets and the sky’s the limit. She said [she and Harry] feel like a huge weight has been lifted.

“They’ve been spending quality time together as a family. Meghan has been cooking and making homemade baby food for Archie.”

The insider claimed that Meghan told her friends that she can “breathe again” now that she is free to focus on her career and family.

“She also felt like she couldn’t be the best mother to Archie if she wasn’t being her true, authentic self. Something she felt she couldn’t be in the royal family confines,” the person added. “She said she didn’t want Archie picking up on her stress and anxiety.

“She felt like it was a toxic environment for him because there was too much tension and pent-up frustrations.”

Meanwhile, author Germaine Greer recently said she believes Meghan is ‘faking’ her love for Harry.

Speaking to Australian show 60 Minutes, Germaine said: “If [Meghan has] been faking it all this time, oh boy, what misery.

“How many orgasms will it take? How many fake groans will get her through this?”

Thomas Markle ‘vows everything will come out’ in Meghan court battle | Entertainment Daily

Thomas Markle has reportedly vowed ‘everything will come out’ if he has to face daughter Meghan Markle in court.

According to The Sun, the 75-year-old is prepared to be a witness in his daughter’s legal battle with a UK newspaper over the publication of a letter she wrote to him.

Thomas passed the note onto the Mail on Sunday after extracts were published in a US mag, six months after it was delivered to his home in Rosarito, Mexico.

Warning a potential clash could prove “emotional”, Thomas is reported to be determined to speak out about “lies” that he alleges have been told about him.

On court: ‘It will be quite stunning’ (Credit: SplashNews.com)

He is reported to have told the tabloid: “When me and Meghan end up in a courtroom together, it will be quite stunning for everybody.”

Thomas insisted: “It will be emotional. I don’t know how we will both accept it.

“It would be the worst place to have to meet her and Harry – but it might come down to that because I will certainly testify against the things that have been said about me. The lies.”

However, during an interview on Good Morning Britain earlier today, Thomas – who has never met his son-in-law or baby grandson Archie in person – suggested he would be relieved to see Meghan again, even if it must be in court.

Thomas, who also told the tabloid he thinks the couple’s decision to ‘step back’ from royal duties is “the dumbest thing”, told GMB hosts Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan why he felt the need to get involved in the legal action.

He explained: “The letter was sent to me. It was described in People magazine by people called themselves as ‘friends of Meghan’ as a loving letter reaching out to me. The word ‘love’ never came into that letter except that one time when she said ‘her loving husband’.

“She never once in that letter asked about my health, how I felt or anything.

“So this letter that was sent to me… I reached out to the Daily Mail, they didn’t come to me. I said I wanted to publish as I wanted to get things straight that had been said about me.”

A post shared by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (@sussexroyal) on

Thomas continued: “At this point I really don’t know how I feel about it. All I know is I’m taking responsibility for something I’ve done, which was reaching out to the [newspaper].

“If it comes to meeting them in a courtroom, that’s great – at least I finally get to see them.

“But I don’t want a face off or have a battle with them, that’s not what I’m looking for.”

In The Sun, however, Thomas’ tone was presented as much more strident as he called Harry “whipped” in a silly joke about facing the Duke in a duel and claimed Meghan has ‘turned into his mother’.

He also accused them both of “cashing in” on the Sussex name and warned his daughter that fame does not last.

OPINION | Opinion: Why a move to Canada makes sense for Prince Harry and Meghan | CBC News

This column is an opinion by Alana India Anderson, a British-Canadian entertainment journalist and editor currently living in London, U.K. For more information about CBC’s Opinion section, please see the FAQ.

In recent days, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has been branded an “ego-crazed” leech, “incredibly irritating,” and “insufferable” by esteemed members of the British press. And yet they’re shocked that she’s made the decision, along with her husband Prince Harry, to leave the U.K. for North America.

On Monday, the Queen released a statement saying the Royal Family “respect” and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family, while remaining a valued part of the institution. “It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the U.K.,” it read.

Since the couple made their decision to “step back” from their roles as senior members of the Royal Family last Wednesday, the U.K. media has been thrown into a frenzy. How could they do this to the Queen? What does this new “progressive role” mean? Who will be paying for their security costs overseas?

But most importantly, why move to Canada?

Having immigrated to Canada from London 20 years ago for a better quality of life, I know the appeal all too well.

In fact, although I’m currently working in the media in the U.K., I still regularly visit the country that welcomed me and my family with open arms, so I’m well aware of the social and cultural differences. There’s no doubt that Harry and Meghan would enjoy a relatively peaceful life if they relocate to Canada.

Toronto is where Harry and Meghan started their relationship four years ago, and where she lived for several years while filming the TV series Suits. Besides familiarity, Canada offers a fresh sense of stress-free simplicity they are not afforded in the U.K.

Not only is celebrity culture almost non-existent in Canada, but fascination with the Royal Family tends to take a far more friendly tone.

In contrast, there’s no escaping the paparazzi in places like London.

While the U.K.’s reality TV stars relish the flashing bulbs of photographers, several celebrities will recall “terrifying” experiences of erratic driving and little to no privacy as photographers go to extreme lengths to get “the shot.” This is because there is no governing body for paparazzi — it’s a grey area.

The paparazzi and tabloid culture prevalent in the U.K. is clearly something Harry is wary of. Last year, the Prince said that every camera flash “takes him back” to the tragedy of his mother’s death in 1997, grief which he compared to a “wound that festers.”

And the media attention in Europe can be unrelenting.

Kate Middleton and Prince William won £91,000 in damages in a French court verdict in 2017, for example, after topless paparazzi photographs of the Duchess were published in a French celebrity magazine. The couple said the incident was a “serious breach of privacy.”

It’s telling that only one photograph emerged during Harry and Meghan’s recent six-week Christmas holiday on Vancouver Island — an image they released on their own terms, showing Harry with their son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor in front of a dazzling backdrop of water and mountains.

Is it so wrong for Harry, who has not only grown up under the weight of media attention but also faced such tragedy in his life, to want some peace? After all, the couple who have put such a spotlight on mental health surely deserve to look after their own.

Escaping the relentless pressure of media attention by itself isn’t the only incentive for the family to leave the U.K.  Since their first meeting, Meghan’s race has been the talking point of headlines adorning British tabloids.

Toned-down prejudice has seen the Duchess described as having “rich and exotic DNA” and being “almost straight out of Compton.”

The fact that she makes mixed-race women, such as myself, feel more in-touch with their identity is merely overlooked. Despite 1.2 million people identifying as mixed-race in Britain, Meghan is often reduced to being an outsider.

Meghan has openly expressed her struggle to adapt to British tabloid scrutiny, saying she “tried to adopt” the “British sensibility of a stiff upper lip.”

It’s a struggle that now appears over, resulting in the U.K. losing a progressive and refreshing couple who are not only responsible for bringing in millions of dollars in tourism, retail and fashion, but also newspaper sales and website clicks.

They wouldn’t be the first members of the Royal Family to see the attraction of Canada. Speaking in Toronto in 2010, the Queen praised the “vast, rich and varied” country for “inspiring its own and attracting many others.” And Queen Victoria’s granddaughter, Princess Patricia of Connaught, resided in Canada from 1911 to 1916 and acted as hostess for her father, Prince Arthur, during his term as governor general. The Princess’s portrait was even on the $1 banknote issued in 1917.

Of course, there’s no guarantee the paparazzi wouldn’t follow them, the way they did when Charles, Diana, William and Harry visited in 1991.

But a move to Canada would likely mean at least a reduction in the media scrutiny of Harry, Meghan and Archie. And that spotlight is something Harry has tried to escape his entire life, a significant curiosity about his private life which he has admitted he has “never been comfortable with.”

And it could also see the Royal Family spread its wings and become an international brand in a country where, unlike the U.S., Harry and Meghan are less regarded as “celebrities,” but are undeniably extremely popular.

Viewed from that perspective, Harry and Meghan relocating to Canada could be a win for their family — and the Royal Family.

Harry ‘fast-tracked royal exit as he feared Meghan was on the brink’ | Entertainment Daily

Prince Harry reportedly ‘fast-tracked’ plans for him and Meghan Markle to quit senior roles in the royal family because ‘he was worried that she would have a meltdown’.

The couple announced last week that they were intending to take a step back from senior royal duties and live with financial independence.

Now reports claim that the shock news was rushed through because the Duke, 35, feared that his wife was ‘on the brink’.

It’s been said that the Duchess – who married Harry in 2018 – has found the ‘slow pace’ of Palace life ‘painful’ and that she has struggled to settle in the UK.

A source told The Sun: “The statement was rushed out and part of the reason for that is that Harry knew he needed to take swift action. Meghan has not settled in the UK and he knows that and wants her to be happy.”

The source added that Harry decided to move quickly during the couple’s six-week break in Canada over Christmas.

According to the insider, he feared that ‘staying in the UK for too long would lead to his wife having a meltdown’.

Meghan said things were ‘hard’ in an ITV documentary (Credit: ITV)

Ent Daily has contacted reps for Buckingham Palace for comment.

In October, the Sussexes filmed an ITV documentary, in which host Tom Bradby asked Meghan about life as a Duchess.

She told him: “It’s… it’s hard. You know? I don’t think anybody can understand that, but in all fairness I had no idea, which probably sounds difficult to understand here.

“But when I first met my now-husband, my friends were really happy because I was so happy, but my British friend said to me, ‘I’m sure he’s great, but you shouldn’t do it because the British tabloids will destroy your life’. And I very naively…

“I’m American, we don’t have that there. ‘What are you talking about, that doesn’t make any sense, I’m not in tabloids.

“I didn’t get it. So it’s, erm… yeah, it’s been complicated.”

A palace insider told the BBC that Harry’s older brother, Prince William, was ‘worried’ after seeing the documentary.

William, Harry, their father Prince Charles and the Queen are reportedly set to meet at Sandringham on Monday (13.1.20) for showdown talks in a bid to rescue the situation and alleviate the crisis.

Meghan was ‘on a mission to bag THE prince’ and RULE world | Daily Mail Online

I had no doubt whatsoever that Harry would fall head-over-heels in love with Meghan the moment she confided in me that they’d become close enough to go on holiday together for the first time. That was 2016 and I myself had fallen under Meghan’s spell, as everyone did. I was drawn to her warm personality, her comforting nature and her ability to make you feel as if you truly were the only person in the world who mattered.

I understood straight away she would mesmerise that broken-hearted young boy we saw following his mother’s coffin, and I was almost as excited as she was about her conquest.

Here were all the ingredients for the romance of the century. For once, the cliches seemed a perfect fit: lovely working-class girl meets the ultimate Prince Charming.

Confidantes: Meghan and Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne, in the days when they shared secrets. The business adviser met the Suits star in 2014 when she was introduced by another client and the pair became fast friends

Yet when I heard on Wednesday that she and Harry were planning such a drastic move as stepping back from their duties as senior Royals, I was not completely surprised.

Because I know from first-hand experience that Meghan is a businesswoman first and foremost – and in purely commercial terms this is an excellent time for her to pick up where she left off, building her career as an actress and a public figure. And if that means dragging Harry out of the Royal Family and into her world – the ‘real world’ as she would feel – then so be it. Yes, her decisions to move forward in her life can seem abrupt, even ruthless, to those left behind. It’s happened several times before, including to me. It’s only the speed with which ‘Megxit’ has unfolded that’s taken me aback. I thought she’d stick with it for a few years before she cracked.

I first came across Meghan in 2014 when she was introduced by another of my clients. Back then, she was still acting in the US legal drama Suits and had recently launched her lifestyle website, The Tig. I could immediately tell she was special, that she had star quality.

She described the actress as ‘razor-sharp – creative and meticulous with a good business brain’. The pair shared secrets about their personal lives until Meghan mentioned how she wanted Harry to propose to her. Gina explained how she must cope with the enormous expectations of the British public, the Royal Family and their courtiers but was dismissed

I became her commercial agent, helping her obtain endorsements and sponsorship deals with leading brands. She was razor-sharp – creative and meticulous, with a good business brain and an American entrepreneurial attitude towards life.

She certainly knew her own mind and was not afraid even then to voice her ‘woke’ opinions. I still recall her refusal to stay at a leading London hotel because, she discovered, it kept a parrot in a cage.

Meghan quickly became much more than a client. We fell into an easy friendship after only a few meetings. I had deep affection for her and was under the impression that she felt the same – she said as much. Believing that we could trust one another, we spoke openly to each other about our personal lives and she revealed much about her life and character. She valued my advice in both her professional and personal life and showed that she took real note of it.

I’m afraid, however, that I had real misgivings when I realised she wanted Harry to propose to her. I doubted whether Meghan would be able to sustain the unrelenting pressure of being Harry’s girlfriend, let alone – wonder of wonders – his wife. The moment she told me their relationship was looking serious, my enthusiasm turned to concern. For both of them.

It wasn’t just the media attention. I distinctly remember explaining as we sipped wine in London’s West End that she must cope with the enormous expectations of the British public, the Royal Family and their courtiers. Her reaction was to hold up her hand and silence me.

‘Save it,’ she said, in a steely manner I had not noticed before. ‘I don’t wanna hear it… this is a positive time in my life.’

At that moment I felt uncomfortable in her company for the first time. It wasn’t as if we hadn’t shared secrets before, but this time it was different.

Meghan has ‘a way of closing the door on the past’ when it is time to moving on in her life, according to the business adviser (pictured). She believed the ‘worldly-wise woman’ was on a mission to ‘bag THE Prince’ and found the her Tom Bradby interview, claiming she was ‘naive when friends warned her against the media’, was disingenuous

I didn’t know it then, but it was the beginning of the end of our friendship and professional relationship. She is a very ambitious woman and, when it is time to move on in her life, Meghan has a way of closing the door on the past, as she did with her father, her siblings, her first husband and with me.

I believed then, as I do now, that she was no ingenue, but a worldly-wise woman on the mission of her life, the mission to bag not any old prince, but The Prince! That’s why I thought it was disingenuous, to put it mildly, when she told Tom Bradby during their ITV interview that she had been ‘naive when friends warned her against the dangers of the media’. Meghan was a proper, grown-up woman when she met Harry.

She has also said that, being American, she didn’t even know who Harry was.

That made me laugh out loud – I know when nonsense is nonsense, and this was demonstrable rubbish.

‘We’re going to change the world,’ she had gushed in my ear, her eyes sparkling with steely determination. I took her to mean that they were going to RULE the world.

I am certain it has been her influence on Harry that is taking him away from his family. I don’t mean to say he has no willpower of his own, but he put it well himself: ‘What Meghan wants, Meghan gets.’

The pair enjoy some R&R with cocktails on the beach. Meghan ‘never showed any interest in British life and traditions’ during their friendship. In the Wild West of the commercial world, there will be none of the careful protection Prince Harry is used to as a member the Royal household

As Meghan passed by me in their carriage on her wedding day at Windsor Castle, I felt it was the moment she’d been auditioning for her whole life. But I also felt an twinge of concern.

I dislike forecasting doom, but my feeling was that she’d find it impossible to deal with the formality of being a member of the Royal Family. She would find it difficult to conform and her Hollywood worldview would be seriously challenged by the low-key, often repetitively dull work involved.

She wanted all the glamour and glory of being a Windsor, but I don’t think she was ever truly up for taking on the daily grind that came with it.

I don’t think she really understands the Royal world of altruism, history, tradition and low-key patronage for no personal gain. She’ll see Royal life as staid and stuffy. She certainly never showed me any interest in British life and traditions. Even with that said, I don’t think she could have dragged Harry away from his family unless part of him wanted to make some kind of grand gesture. But from what I’ve seen of them together, I’m certain she played a large part in the current crisis.

The Deal or No Deal star (pictured during a photo shoot at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, 2016) took her commercial adviser to one side and emphasised that she had ‘legs as long as a mile’, demanding that the agency do their best to secure a substantial offer to showcase this ‘asset’

Reunited: Meghan honoured her bridal gown designer during the The Fashion Awards 2018, while Waight Keller thanked the royal personally in her speech at the star-studded awards ceremony at the historic venue in Kensington, London

Everything she does is carefully curated and forensically planned. Harry has a choice – he can go along with her or she’ll sail on regardless.

In pure business terms, the decision to step down from Royal duties is correct, of course. I have no doubt that Meghan and Harry have the potential to earn money that would dwarf the allowances they received for being Royals. She knows what she is doing.

When we had to notify all of our clients in 2016 that Meghan was no longer able to accept commercial bookings, there was disappointment, especially as her profile was already substantially lifted due to her involvement with Harry. Now there will be unending demand for their time and interest, and the bulk will come from the States, where their contacts in Hollywood and politics – and their huge base of supporters – offer the best commercial potential.

Without a doubt, many of the biggest companies will want both Meghan and Harry as brand ambassadors: this is what Meghan and I worked on before she married Harry, and what Meghan was most keen on.

Before Harry arrived in her life, we worked on endorsement deals with Meghan for a number of big-name brands, including Swiss watches, body care ranges, lingerie, food, beauty products and so on. Meghan endorsed her own range of fashion for a Canadian company. Her ambition was to land a big contract with a cosmetic range, such as L’Oreal.

She took me to one side and emphasised that she had ‘legs as long as a mile’, demanding that our agency do our best to secure her a substantial offer to showcase this ‘asset’. Meghan is still relatively young, she is very beautiful, has a great natural flair and style and she is wise and has a strong character of her own. Her image is perfect for commercial endorsements and high-end fashion and lifestyle brands.

I doubt there would be a producer or casting director in the world who would not want her for a role in a movie, TV series, commercial or brand campaign.

Now she holds the title HRH The Duchess of Sussex she has a hallmark that no money can buy.

Even today, after three years of not working with her, we are bombarded with offers. She can name her price.

If all this is a dream come true for Meghan, Harry will have to be very careful if it is not to turn out to be a nightmare for him. In the Wild West of the commercial world, there will be none of the careful protection he is used to as a member the Royal household.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released this statement announcing that they will be quitting as senior Royals

Can Harry adapt to this new way of life, stepping away from everything he has known? The grass may seem to be greener on the other side, but that’s not always how it works out – as Meghan herself now knows.

Time is on his side. He will always be Prince Harry.

Meghan will be well aware, in contrast, that female celebrities have a limited shelf life and this might well be part of their decision to make such a seismic change.

The Royal couple hold their baby boy Archie during a photocall in St Georges Hall at Windsor Castle

What sort of money could they earn if they really did decide to exploit their full commercial potential? To put it crudely, they would command top dollar.

I know the market well. My agency, Kruger Cowne, represents clients for public speaking, hosting and publishing, but we also handle branding, television, music and much else. Many of our clients earn six- and seven-figure sums a year.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle watched Wheelchair Tennis at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada on 25 September 2017 – in what marked their first public appearance together

But Meghan and Harry could do that in a heartbeat, and go on to rival such internationally known figures as Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Beyoncé and the Obamas.

The saddest thing of all is that there is much to admire in Meghan, but I don’t think she has really paid attention to the human side of the Royal Family.

And the fact that Meghan still thinks she can revolutionise the Monarchy shows how little she understands the British way of life. The Royal Family has its own codes, its own magnificent history, and it’s going to take so much more than an actress from California to change that.

Meghan’s last email to me was to say that her life had changed and she could no longer pursue commercial work. She really wanted to remain friends, she said, adding that it was very important to her.

Alas, that was not to be: I’ve never heard from her directly again.

When, recently, I found myself in the same room as her, she pretended not to notice – stage-managing it so that Harry spoke to me instead.

Meghan has made a habit of ‘moving on’ to better things. And I doubt that will ever change.

Meghan ‘sparked row between Prince Harry and David Beckham’ | Daily Mail Online

Prince Harry confronted David Beckham over suspicions Victoria was leaking stories about her friendship with Meghan, a source has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex dealt with the rumours ‘head on’ and contacted David directly, a source said.

‘Harry was very polite, but obviously it was a pretty awkward exchange and David was mortified,’ they told The Sun.

The Duke of Sussex (pictured with Meghan on their visit to Canada House this month) dealt with the rumours ‘head on’ and contacted David Beckham directly, a source said

The friends agreed to put it behind them after the former footballer ‘put Harry right’, according to the source.

‘Afterwards, they got things back on track, but it took a few months.’

It came after the duchess and Victoria bonded over hair and beauty tips ahead of Meghan’s move to London following the former actress’s engagement to Harry in 2017.

It’s believed former Spice Girl Victoria befriended Meghan and gave her a list of ‘exclusive salons’ to visit, according to The Sun

Harry and David agreed to put it behind them after the former footballer ‘put Harry right’, according to the source. David and Victoria Beckham at St George’s Church at Windsor Castle for the wedding of Harry and Meghan in 2018

A Royal insider told the publication that the former Suits actress was ‘really pleased’ with her new found friendship and credited the fashion designer for helping her to settle into her new life in London.

The source said the pair ‘hit it from the off’ and were in ‘regular contact’ in the early days of Meghan and Harry’s relationship.

However the source added that not long after Victoria shared the beauty secrets, some of these emerged in print which made Meghan ‘furious’.

It is believed Harry, 35, and David, 44, got back to their former friendship after dealing with the matter yet it took a few months.

The former footballer and Prince Harry have long been good friends and worked together to secure the 2012 London Olympic Games and Harry asked David to be ambassador for the Invictus Games in 2018.

The Beckhams were seen at Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May 2018 however the pair were absent from the exclusive ‘evening do’.

Meghan previously admitted to being unable to wear Victoria Beckham dresses despite loving the designs, explaining that the silhouette didn’t suit her ‘short’ torso.

However at the royal family’s annual Christmas church service at Sandringham last year, the duchess was dressed head-to-toe in the designer.

The pregnant duchess wore a navy wool-blend midi dress by the former Spice Girl, which neatly hugged her blossoming baby bump.

Speaking in the past interview, Meghan, who is 5ft 6ins, said she felt her waist wasn’t long enough to wear certain dresses.

Talking about how she chooses her outfits, she said at the time: ‘What I’m starting to learn is, even though things look amazing on the hanger, it doesn’t mean they’re going to look amazing on me.

‘For example I love Victoria Beckham dresses, but I don’t have the long torso to support that silhouette.’

MailOnline contacted David and Victoria Beckham’s representatives and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment.
