Evil Dead: WWE fans want CM Punk to replace Bruce Campbell as Ash

Last October, Sam Raimi confirmed that he’s developing another EVIL DEAD movie under a new director and Bruce Campbell producing. Campbell recently teased that the new movie will begin filming this year. And today it looks like WWE fans really want CM Punk to take over the role of Ash.

Check out some choice tweets:

@CMPunk would probably be the only person who could look and play the part of Ash from the Evil Dead. pic.twitter.com/AH6qw0mbkK

After watching Girl on the third floor, @CMPunk would make an awesome ash Williams in an evil dead reboot. Just saying.

Just watched Girl on the third floor (3/10) BUT what I would be into is CM PUNK as Ash in Evil Dead remake/reboot/spinoff. He’s got the style #Groovy #Netflix

What do you think of GIRL ON THE THIRD FLOOR and WWE star CM Punk as new Ash? Let us know below!

The last time we saw the titular evil dead on the big screen was in director Fede Alvarez’s 2013 remake, which followed:

Mia (Jane Levy), a drug addict, is determined to kick the habit. To that end, she asks her brother, David (Shiloh Fernandez), his girlfriend, Natalie (Elizabeth Blackmore) and their friends Olivia (Jessica Lucas) and Eric (Lou Taylor Pucci) to accompany her to their family’s remote forest cabin to help her through withdrawal. Eric finds a mysterious Book of the Dead at the cabin and reads aloud from it, awakening an ancient demon. All hell breaks loose when the malevolent entity possesses Mia.

EVIL DEAD (2013) was directed by Fede Alvarez from a screenplay written by Alvarez along with Rodo Sayagues based on The Evil Dead by Sam Raimi. Raimi produced the remake along with Campbell and Robert Tapert. The flick starred Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas, and Elizabeth Blackmore. If for some reason you don’t already own the movie on Blu-ray, you can snag a copy on UNRATED Blu-ray HERE.
