Adele ‘lost seven stone with help of fitness guru recommended by Lady Gaga’ | Daily Mail Online

Adele reportedly called in the help of a fitness guru who trained Lady Gaga and hired a personal chef in her quest to lose seven stone.

The singer – who recently stunned the world by sharing a snap of her incredible transformation – reportedly took advice from LA-based trainer Harley Pasternak, who has also worked with the likes of Rihanna and Katy Perry.

It’s also claimed that Adele, 32, hired a personal chef on the advice of her Hollywood pal Cameron Diaz because she’s ‘not a fan of cooking.’

A source told The Sunday Mirror that Harley suggested Adele follow a fitness regime which included 35-minute training sessions five times a week.

They said: ‘Adele is feeling incredible at the moment and her weight loss is due to a lot of things but she is also been getting tips from Harley.

‘Lady Gaga told her how brilliant Harley was. And that convinced Adele to get in touch.’

It was then reported that Adele hired chef Jason Harley to create her healthy dishes, following claims she had been following the 1,000-a-day Sirtfood diet.

The source added: ”She would have a green juice in the morning then work out. The she wouldn’t usually eat until 3pm or 4pm so she was also doing a lot of intermittent fasting.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Adele for comment.

On Thursday Adele’s former personal trainer spoke out about her weight loss, insisting her body transformation was never about ‘getting super skinny’.

The singer had showed off her incredible seven stone weight loss in a tight black minidress in a rare Instagram snap on Tuesday.

Her former trainer Pete Geracimo has now told how it was disheartening to see ‘fat-phobic accusations’ against Adele before her dramatic weight loss.

WHAT IS THE SIRTFOOD DIET?

The Sirtfood Diet is based on sirtuins (SIRTs), a group of seven proteins

It focuses on plant foods which help to suppress appetite and activate the body’s ‘skinny gene’

Followers of the diet go through two diet cycles that last for three weeks

Recommended Sirtfoods include: Kale, red wine, strawberries, onions, soy and dark chocolate (85% cocoa)

The diet has been criticised for failing to provide any long-term benefits

Taking to Instagram, he wrote: ‘As Adele’s former London-based personal trainer, it’s disheartening to read negative commentary and fat-phobic accusations questioning the genuineness of her amazing weight loss.

‘In my personal experience of working with her through many highs and lows, she always marched to the beat of her own drum on her own terms.

‘She never undermined her God-given talent by reducing herself to expose her flesh or be the over the top sexy vixen to sell albums. She let her voice do the talking, or should I say singing!

‘She never once pretended to be something that she wasn’t. What you saw was what you got. And we all LOVED it!

‘When Adele and I started our journey together, it was never about getting super skinny. It was about getting her healthy. Especially post pregnancy and post surgery. When 25 dropped and the tour announced, we had to get ready for a 13 month gruelling schedule.

‘In that time, she warmed to training and made better food choices. As a result, she lost considerable weight and people took notice. Her body transformation was splashed across every media outlet. The attention it generated was mind-blowing.’

Incredible: Adele’s friend Lauren Paul shared this throwback to when they were in Vegas together, along with Nicole Richie and Jedidiah Jenkins as she wished her a happy birthday

The trainer also noted Adele has been through ‘tough personal changes’ since she moved to Los Angeles.

The singer’s big reveal came after she split from her husband Simon Konecki in April 2019 and filed for divorce in September.

Pete wrote: ‘Since she moved to LA, it’s been well documented that she underwent some tough personal changes. It’s only natural that with change comes a new sense of self and wanting to be your best possible version.

‘She embraced better eating habits and committed to her fitness and ‘is sweating!’ I could not be prouder or happier for her!

‘This metamorphosis is not for album sales, publicity or to be a role model. She is doing it for herself and for Angelo.

Long-term pals: Lauren also shared this throwback picture of herself hugging Adele while they were out on a road trip

‘My hope is that people appreciate the hard work that Adele has done to improve herself for the benefit to her and her family only. She did not lose the weight to make others feel bad about themselves.

‘This personal transformation has nothing to do with me or you. It’s about Adele and how she wants to live her life. She has not changed from the Adele we grew up with and have loved. There is just a little less of her to go around.

‘Just think, now that she is more fit and more fabulous, she might tour again! WIN-WIN!!!!’

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Adele for comment.

Split: The singer’s big reveal came after she split from her husband Simon Konecki in April 2019 and filed for divorce in September (pictured in 2013)

Adele and Simon share a seven-year-old son called Angelo and a People insider revealed her weight loss came partly from a desire to be healthier for her child.

‘She got to the point where she didn’t feel great. She knew she had to change something, because she wants to be the healthiest mom possible,’ said the source.

The insider added: ‘Her whole focus during the weight loss journey has really been all about how she can be healthier and how can she treat her body better. It was never about losing weight.’

A friend previously said the split had given her a new lease of life.

They told The Sun: ‘Adele has been out enjoying herself and she sees that as her priority at the moment, along with being a mum to Angelo.

‘She has been loving her new workout regime and it really works for her. It’s a bonus that she has shifted some weight.

‘Her mates are glad she’s letting loose and there’s nothing but good feelings towards her. She’s got a new lease of life.’

Change: Adele and Simon share a seven-year-old son called Angelo and a People insider revealed her weight loss came partly from a desire to be healthier for her child (pictured in June 2013)

Adele and Simon first began dating in 2011 and welcomed their son the following year in 2012.

The pair then married four years later, wedding in secret, with Adele choosing to address their wedding for the first time during an acceptance speech at the Grammys in 2017.

Adele first confirmed her split from Simon in April 2019 and filed for divorce in September, with her ex reportedly agreeing to joint custody of their son Angelo just days later.

A month after filing for divorce, Adele was romantically linked to British rapper and Grime artist Skepta, but it was claimed their relationship was never ‘serious’.

In December, reports surfaced suggesting Adele has since ‘grown closer’ to US record producer Jonathan Hay, who she is thought to have met earlier this year in New York at Quad Recording Studios.

Different: Adele has always looked beautiful but looks drastically different to when she appeared at London’s Brit Awards in February 2016

Last year, Adele embarked on another astonishing transformation with The Sun reporting in June that she was doing reformer Pilates with Robbie Williams’s wife Ayda Field.

Her new figure is also reportedly partly due to the Sirtfood Diet, which Glen Matten and Aidan Goggins debuted in a book in 2016.

The diet reportedly allows Adele to indulge in red wine and coffee while stressing a regime of plant products like turmeric, kale, buckwheat and green tea.

Sensation: Her birthday picture marked Adele’s first Instagram upload since she stunned the world with her new svelte frame in photos from her Christmas party last year

These items are said to activate a person’s sirtuins, also known as ‘housekeeping genes,’ which suppress appetite by controlling bodily response to sugar and fat.

This January Adele’s former personal trainer ‘Brazilian body wizard’ Camila Goodis appeared on Lorraine and shed light on how the singing star took the pounds off.

‘She’s working out but I think 90% of it is diet,’ said Camila, a 31-year-old who is based out of Los Angeles.

‘It’s a good diet to shed the weight. The first week is intense, green juices and only 1,000 calories. She doesn’t look too thin – she looks amazing.’

Camila told The Sun she met Adele through Ayda, who has been married since 2010 to English musician Robbie Williams of Take That fame.

Smashing: This January Adele’s former personal trainer ‘Brazilian body wizard’ Camila Goodis (pictured) appeared on Lorraine and shed light on how the singing star took the pounds off

She theorized Adele ‘has probably cut out processed foods and is eating soy and other plant-based foods.’

The fitness trainer added: ‘She’s found a diet that works for her. She looks younger and, more importantly, she looks happy.’

Back in February, a health expert on British daytime TV show, This Morning, suggested Adele’s alleged ‘1000-calorie-a-day’ diet isn’t sustainable in the long term.

Food writer, Dale Pinnock – aka the Medicinal Chef – warned the diet could have adverse side effects such as brain fog and irritability.

Dale explained: ‘If you’ve got a short-term goal that kind of approach could be very, very suitable – if you want to lose weight for a wedding or holiday.

‘But it isn’t sustainable. There will be a cut off because after a while your body will start to down regulate the things it will do.’

He reminded people at home that the recommended daily intake for a woman is between 1,800 and 2,000 calories.

‘[The body’s] top priority is survival, after a couple of weeks you won’t be as active, you’ll find that you get brain fog and become irritable, it kicks in quite quickly.

‘Slow and steady wins the race, definitely – find something that you can stick to.’

As seen last year: Last June the Sun reported Adele was doing reformer Pilates with trainer Ayda Field (right) who has been married to Robbie Williams (left) of Take That fame since 2010

Last Thursday Adele’s makeup artist of 12 years Michael Ashton posted an Instagram snap of her and wrote: ”BTW…. EXCITING NEWS COMING SOON!!’

His cryptic caption sent fans into a tizz as they theorized that he was hinting at new music from Adele, whose most recent album 25 was released in 2015.

Earlier last month Adele was Live on Instagram with producers Babyface and Teddy Riley, and as their stream got repeatedly interrupted by glitches she cracked: Come on, it’s 2020 – we ain’t meant to get what we want!’

Although Adele’s next album is slated to drop this September her quip led some fans to worry that the release may be pushed until 2021.

Adele’s Weight Loss Is A Double Bind

Ultimately, Adele can’t win. No one knows if she lost weight for health reasons or aesthetic ones, but she’s allowed to make the choice, even if it bums some of us out. Her silence on her weight loss is perhaps the most important factor here. She hasn’t (yet?) done a cover of Women’s Health in a swimsuit; she so far hasn’t done a Harper’s Bazaar “What I Eat in a Day” video. Her comments on working out and weight loss thus far have mostly been pretty agnostic, saying that she does it merely to have the endurance to perform live. “I’m not, like, skipping to the fucking gym,” she told Rolling Stone in 2015.

But without Adele even trying, her body is both the medium and the message. We don’t know how much she has actually lost, why she lost it, or how she did it, but we have visual proof it was done. Even her Instagram post for her birthday was more about first responders and essential workers than it was about her.

Thus goes the double bind for a celebrity like Adele, made famous by their talents but rendered endearing because they look “relatable,” even when “relatable” still means exceptionally beautiful by any measure. She can’t come out and talk about the weight loss, because that suggests there was something wrong with how she looked before. She also can’t ignore it, because that allows strangers to ascribe value and meaning to her body. She might have lost the weight for her own quality of life, or she might have lost it because of the enormous pressure of being a person whom people stare at all day. Both are valid reasons, but only one feels fraught with the pressure of being a disappointment.

Like most things, our response to Adele’s weight loss says more about us than it does about her. If we’re cheering her on, it suggests a kind of misery we already have about our weight and our relationship with our own body. If we’re gloomy about it, it’s because she reminds us of our own struggle with conventional beauty and the ways we don’t fit in. Adele can’t win, and neither can we.

But, hey, at least we can still listen to 21. “Rolling in the Deep” slaps, no matter what version of Adele we get. ●

Adele shares stunning picture and thanks essential workers as she celebrates her 32nd birthday | London Evening Standard

Adele has shared a stunning picture as she celebrated her 32nd birthday.

The chart-topping singer, who split from husband Simon Konecki last year, shared a post on Instagram in which she’s smiling for the camera while standing outside a house along side a giant floral wreath, wearing a black, thigh-length dress.

Her LBD is available to purchase online – if you fancy splashing the cash. The star wore her hair down and completed the look with a pair of black heels.

“Thank you for the birthday love,” she wrote in the caption. “I hope you’re all staying safe and sane during this crazy time.

“I’d like to thank all of our first responders and essential workers who are keeping us safe while risking their lives! You are truly our angels.”

She added: “2020 okay bye thanks x.”

The multi Grammy and Brit award-winning superstar announced in April last year that she and Konecki had split and she filed for divorce in September, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

The couple share a son, seven-year-old Angelo.

Since finishing the tour accompanying her third album, 25, the singer has kept a low profile.

Adele has shared snaps of herself just a handful of times, most recently posting after a Christmas 2019 party.

In February, she appeared to confirm she has a new album on the way later this year.

She performed at the wedding party of her friend author Laura Dockrill and Maccabees guitarist Hugo White, and in videos uploaded by guests she said: “Expect my album in September.”

Her most recent album was the chart-topping 25 in 2015.

Adele ‘sells her eight-bedroom Sussex home she shared with ex Simon Konecki at a loss of £1million’ | Daily Mail Online

Adele has reportedly sold the home she shared with her ex Simon Konecki at a £1million loss.

The singer, 31, suffered the loss after her country estate in East Grinstead, West Sussex was bought by a financier last year.

According to The Sun, the hitmaker suffered the seven-figure loss after purchasing the eight-bedroom house for £4million in 2017.

Moving on: Adele, 31, has reportedly sold the home she shared with her ex Simon Konecki, 45, at a £1million loss (pictured in February 2013)

The luxurious 18th century home also features a tennis court and is set on 48 acres of land with sources telling the paper the seclusion of the property appealed to Adele.

The insider added that Adele had been eager to live an ‘unflashy’ life with Simon and their son Angelo, seven.

However, the property was put up for sale last year after Adele filed for divorce from Simon, who she married in a private wedding in 2016.

The singer is said to have held onto several other properties in the UK including another house and a flat in West London.

Adele now spends a lot of time in Los Angeles where she and Simon are said to have neighbouring homes to make co-parenting their son easier.  MailOnline has contacted representatives for Adele for comment.

Moving on: The Hello hitmaker, who shed a whopping seven stone last year, has since been romantically linked to Grime artist Skepta

The Hello hitmaker announced her split from her partner of eight years in April 2019, and has since been romantically linked to Grime artist Skepta.

But Skepta, real name Joseph Junior Adenuga, 37, appeared to confirm that things are now over between himself and Adele in a new track, Mic Check, from his album, Insomnia.

Since her divorce, award-winning belter Adele has been focusing on herself, with the star shedding seven stone in order to be the healthiest she can for her son, Angelo.

Adele’s former personal trainer revealed the incredible weight loss had been achieved thanks to a strict diet of ‘green juice and 1,000 calories a day’.

‘Brazilian body wizard’ Camila Goodis, who was introduced to the singer by Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda, credited the transformation to sticking to the strict diet and exercising regularly.

‘Can you handle the fame? You know you’re f***ing with a star?’ The MC appeared to confirm that things are now over between himself and Adele in a new track (pictured in 2018)

She’s Back! Adele Says Fans Can Expect a New Album in September, 5 Years After She Released 25

Will Adele fans soon be saying hello from the other side of a new music drought?

While performing at her best friend’s wedding over the weekend, the 31-year-old singer told friends to “expect my album in September,” in Instagram videos of the night.

The Grammy winner hasn’t released new music since 2015’s 25, which featured singles like “Hello” and “Send My Love (To Your New Lover).”

The album, her third studio release, earned Adele five Grammys in 2017, including Album of the Year.

In her acceptance speech for that award, the songstress gave a shoutout to her fellow nominee, Beyoncé.

“My artist of my life is Beyoncé, and this album to me, the Lemonade album, was just so monumental,” Adele said tearfully from the stage.

Adele went on a bit of a hiatus since then, but has been making headlines recently for her significant weight loss.

“She looked like herself but also so different — beautiful but almost unrecognizable,” a source told PEOPLE of Adele’s appearance at an Oscars afterparty.

The singer told a fan while she was vacationing in Anguilla with Harry Styles and James Corden that she lost 100 lbs., PEOPLE previously reported.

Another source told PEOPLE that the musician has been following a strict diet and fitness routine — but it’s not all about the physical change for the mother of one.

“It’s easy to just focus on her physical transformation, but this is really about something bigger,” an insider said. “She got to the point where she didn’t feel great. She knew she had to change something because she wants to be the healthiest mom possible.”

“Her whole focus during the weight loss journey has really how been all about how she can be healthier and how can she treat her body better,” the insider said. “It was never about losing weight. Her weight loss happened because she has cut down drinking and is eating more real food. But she now loves her physical transformation too. She is more confident, dresses differently and she just seems happier overall.”

Adele shares 7-year-old son Angelo with ex-husband Simon Konecki.

The couple split last year after getting married in 2016.

Adele confirms new album set for release in September

Adele has stated that she intends to release a new album in September this year.

The artist confirmed the news herself at a wedding party over the weekend, where she was both performer and officiant for one of her friends. While speaking on stage, the ‘Hello’ singer told everyone there to “expect my album in September”.

Last month, Adele’s manager confirmed that the singer is set to release new music this year.

Jonathan Dickins told Music Week that singer will finally release the follow up to her 2015  album ’25’  and said “the sooner [it comes out] the better.”

The last time the singer herself hinted that new music was coming was when she turned 31 last May. At the time she said: “This is 31…thank fucking god – 30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean in to it all.”

She added: “For the first time in a decade I’m ready to feel the world around me and look up for once,” before hinting that a new album – ’30’ – could be on the way soon as she joked: “’30’ will be a drum n bass record to spite you. Chin up, eh”.

The singer also announced that she had separated from her husband, Simon Konecki, last year.

The singer’s representatives Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh confirmed the news in a statement which read: “Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”
