Angelina Jolie’s Daughter Zahara Just Joined Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. At Spelman

As if it wasn’t heartwarming enough to see Zahara Jolie choose Spelman University as her college of choice in 2022 with full support from her mom, actress Angelina Jolie, she’s gone ahead and taken things up a notch to our glee by joining a divine nine organization in her sophomore year. The 18-year-old crossed Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. recently and there’s footage of her being presented on the ATL campus as one of the newest members.

Zahara emphatically let everyone present know she’s Zahara Marley Jolie (it seems she’s dropped the Pitt), hailing from Los Angeles, and flipped her hair as everyone in the crowd cheered on.

As mentioned, she made big news by opting to continue her studies at Spelman, and mom Angelina was by her side as she began her journey. Last summer, the Oscar winner and Zahara’s sisters, Shiloh and Vivienne, were there as she started school, and even attended a Spelman and Morehouse alumni association event in Hollywood for back-to-school season.

“Zahara with her Spelman sisters!” Angelina wrote when sharing a photo of Zahara around that time. “Congratulations to all new students starting this year. A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl.”

As for her father, Brad Pitt, he expressed his excitement for her in interviews last year while promoting his film Bullet Train. It’s unclear what his relationship has been with all of the former couple’s children since they divorced in 2016 and details as to what led to the split became public.

“I’m so proud of her,” he shared with Vanity Fair. “She’s so smart. She’s going to flourish even more at college. It’s an exciting and beautiful time to find her own way and pursue her interests. I’m so proud.”

As you can see, not only is Zahara enjoying life at Spelman, she’s fully engrossed in the culture and relishing in the experience. Congratulations to her and the rest of the new AKAs over at that very esteemed institution.

Matthew Perry Tribute: Adele honors ‘incredibly brave’ former Friends star at Las Vegas show

Adele paid tribute to Friends star Matthew Perry during her Las Vegas concert on Saturday night.

The singer-songwriter was on stage shortly after news broke that the actor had been found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home at age 54.

Adele paused her show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, site of her ongoing Vegas residency, to speak about the actor, who she described as ‘probably the best comedic character of all time.’

‘It is always so shocking, especially someone that made you laugh and who bought so much joy to your life that you don’t know. This is what I find so strange, I never met him in my life. There is something, you feel so sad about it especially because you don’t necessarily known what was going on,’ she told the crowd.

‘I’ll remember that character for the rest of my life,’ she added of Perry’s Friends character Chandler Bing. ‘He’s probably the best comedic character of all time.’

Adele, who was dressed up as Morticia Adams for the Halloween weekend performance, dedicated her son ‘When We Were Young,’ to Perry.

During the introduction to the song Adele usually works her way through the audience to collect favorite childhood memories.

Sharing her own childhood memory from the stage, Adele recalled: ‘One of my friends Andrew when I was, like, 12 did the best Chandler impression’.

‘He would do it all the time to make us laugh and if any of us were having a bad day or feeling low he would just pretend to be Chandler.’

Adele, who made her own decision to stop drinking earlier this year, also addressed Perry’s issues with alcohol and opioid addiction. ‘He was so open with his struggles with addiction and sobriety, which I think is incredibly, incredibly brave,’ she said of the star who penned a bestselling book about his struggles.

Adele mentioned Perry again later in the show after bursting into tears when she spotted her OB-GYN in the audience, telling the audience: ‘It’s a very emotional night.’

Perry, who shot to fame as the sarcastic Chandler Bing in the seminal 90s sitcom, was found dead at his house in Los Angeles on Saturday after emergency crews were called at around 4pm local time.

He had reportedly played a two-hour game of Pickleball – a sport similar to tennis but played on a smaller court – earlier in the day, before sending his assistant out on an errand. When they returned, Perry was said to be found unresponsive in his hot tub.

Friends, which followed the lives of six friends in their 20s living in New York, was a smash hit across the globe when it aired between 1994 and 2004, and re-runs still remain hugely popular years later.

Perry won a worldwide fanbase for his role as Chandler, earning him an Emmy nomination in 2002 – but behind the glitz and glamour, he secretly battled substance abuse for decades.

There was no indication of foul play and no drugs were found at the scene of his death, sources said this morning.

The cast of Saturday Night Live also paid tribute to the star shortly after the former Friends star’s sudden death at the age of 54 was confirmed.

Old times: Perry rose to fame for his role as wisecracking Chandler Bing (clockwise from bottom left: Courteney Cox Arquette as Monica Geller, Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay, David Schwimmer as Ross Geller, Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing, Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green)

A black and white image of Perry closed the latest instalment of NBC’s late night sketch show – hosted on this occasion by comedian Nate Bargatze.

Perry himself had previously hosted the show on October 4 1997, at the the height of his mainstream fame with American sitcom Friends, during which indie band Oasis featured as musical guests.

He was fourth star of the hit show to feature as Saturday Night Live host after Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox served as joint hosts in 1995, while Lisa Kudrow featured the following year.

Perry’s one episode tenure featured a Friends parody, in which the actor played womanising roommate Joey – a character made famous by Matt LeBlanc – while Colin Quinn played an effeminate version of Chandler.

Matthew Perry Dies at 54

Matthew Perry, the Friends star who battled addiction for decades before, during, and after he spent ten seasons in the ensemble of one of TV’s most beloved sitcoms, has died, the L.A. Times reports. Perry was allegedly discovered unresponsive in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles; the paper’s source did not cite a cause of death. The actor was 54.

Perry was best known for his portrayal of the witty, sarcastic and catchphrase-loving Chandler Bing on the iconic ’90s sitcom, starring in 234 episodes of the series created by David Crane and Martha Kaufman from 1994 to 2004 and getting an Emmy nomination for his work in its ninth season. (Perry was nominated for Emmys five times in total, including for his appearance in 2021’s HBO Max Friends reunion special.)  Though all six of the series’ lead characters were funny, Chandler was first among equals—a charmingly self-deprecating, grown-up class clown who could wring a laugh out of nothing more than his unique inflection (“Could she be more out of my league?”).

The son of actor John Bennett Perry, Canada-born Perry yearned to make it big in Hollywood before he booked Friends at the age of 24. ”There was steam coming out of my ears, I wanted to be famous so badly,” he told the New York Times in 2002. “You want the attention, you want the bucks, and you want the best seat in the restaurant. I didn’t think what the repercussions would be.”

During the show’s run, Perry attempted to launch a film career, starring in well-received comedies including Fools Rush In, Three to Tango, and The Whole Nine Yards. After it ended, he starred on numerous short-lived TV series, including Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Mr. Sunshine, Go On, and the 2015 CBS reboot of The Odd Couple. But Perry never quite managed to escape Chandler’s long shadow.

His efforts were complicated by the lifelong battle with addiction he chronicled in his 2022 memoir, the New York Times bestseller Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing. In an interview he gave while promoting the book, Perry shared that he found it impossible to rewatch Friends because all he saw were the physical signs of his disease. “I was taking 55 Vicodin a day, I weighed 128 pounds, I was on Friends getting watched by 30 million people—and that’s why I can’t watch the show, ’cause I was brutally thin,” Perry said. “I didn’t watch the show, and haven’t watched the show, because I could go, ’Drinking, opiates, drinking, cocaine,’” he said. “I could tell season by season, by how I looked. That’s why I don’t wanna watch it, because that’s what I see.”

Perry estimated last year that he had spent around $9 million trying to stay sober. He’d been to rehab 15 times, he said; he’d had 14 surgeries on his stomach due to damage wrought from his addiction to opioids and alcohol. The worst of them came when his colon burst when Perry was 49; the actor was placed in a coma for two weeks, he said, and had to use a colostomy bag for the next nine months. “The doctors told my family that I had a 2 percent chance to live,” Perry wrote in his memoir. “I was put on a thing called an ECMO machine, which does all the breathing for your heart and your lungs. And that’s called a Hail Mary. No one survives that.”

Reps for Perry did not immediately return Vanity Fair‘s request for comment.

Paris Hilton SLAMS ‘sick’ trolling over the size of her baby son Phoenix’s head and says: ‘My angel is healthy – he just has a large brain’ | Daily Mail

Paris Hilton has hit back at trolls who made vile comments about the size of her baby son’s head.

The socialite, 42, who welcomed Phoenix, nine months, via surrogate, posted sweet snaps of her son’s first trip to New York City to Instagram on Friday – but the comment section was swiftly flooded with cruel remarks.

Fans also took to TikTok to condemn the rude remarks with Hilton responding to a follower who defended her and saying her son is healthy.

She wrote: ‘There are some sick people in this world. My angel is perfectly healthy.

‘And yes, of course he has been to a doctor, he just has a large brain.’

Hilton shares her son with husband Carter Reum, 42.

Comment: Fans also took to TikTok to condemn the rude remarks with Hilton responding to a follower who defended her and saying her son is healthy

The images posted by Hilton last week saw her proudly pose with her son on her lap clad in  head-to-toe Burberry fashion with a plaid top, slacks and little shoes.

This comes after Hilton reacted toSpears‘ tell-all memoir, which is due out this month.

The blonde told Extra‘s Mona Kosar Abdi she is looking forward to the Toxic singer’s highly anticipated tome which has already been leaked here and there.

And Hilton pointed out a surprising parallel in their two books; Paris shared her memoir earlier this year.

In Britney’s The Woman In Me she drops the bombshell that she had an abortion while she was dating Justin Timberlake.

Paris also revealed in her memoir that she had an abortion at 22.

Paris commented, ‘For me, it was extremely healing.

‘It’s very difficult to have to relive and remember things that you don’t want to remember, but talking about it, I think, is really important, just letting it go.

‘And also there’s so many people in the world who’ve been through similar situations so it will make them feel less alone.’

Hilton has seen Spears ‘recently.’ Paris did not say where or when the meet up happened but said the Crossroads actress is just fine.

Hilton then talked about her own hectic world.

Paris added that a typical day in her life as ‘nonstop,’ she added, ‘I don’t think anyone has the same 24 hours in a day that I do.’

As for motherhood, Paris noted that being called a mom is her ‘favorite title of all of them.’

She emphasized, ‘Moms are superheroes. I love being a mom so much.’

Paris and husband Carter Reum went through an IVF journey that led to the birth of their son Phoenix, who was born via surrogate earlier this year.

Hilton gushed about her little man, ‘Phoenix is such an angel. He just turned 9 months old yesterday.

‘He’s getting so tall. He’s about to crawl soon, so it’s just so much fun seeing all these milestones.’

Parents: Paris is seen with husband Carter in February 2023

Paris also made sure to show some love for Carter as they are approaching their second wedding anniversary. She said, ‘Carter is so romantic. He’s always coming up with the most amazing surprises.’

Hilton delivered surprises — and bombshell revelations — in her eye-opening, tell-all memoir. Now, she is bringing that story to the small screen in an upcoming series.

Paris didn’t reveal who is playing her, saying, ‘That’s a surprise… I am so excited. I love the girl so much.’

She went on, ‘I’m just really proud of my memoir and that it touched so many people. And now to see it being turned into a TV series is pretty iconic.’

Here’s the Latest List of Celebrities Elon Musk Has Scared Off of Twitter

The exodus of left-wing celebrities continues on Twitter, as the nation’s high-profile performers appear woefully trapped in the delusion that where they chose to vent their personal opinions about politics is of the remotest consequence to us plebs and laypeople.

Shonda Rhimes, Gigi Hadid and Amber Heard top the list of names of those caught up in the mass exit — by virtue of the fact that I’m vaguely aware of who they are and what they’re known for — with Whoopi Goldberg and Toni Braxton serving as perhaps the most well-known of the grumpy brunch.

These moderately big names are joined by a host of B- to D-listers ranging from actors to writers to stage performers, all of whom appear to have an inflated sense of their importance on the platform, and roughly none of whom I’ve ever heard of before (except for rocker Jack White, whose current cultural relevance I nonetheless seriously doubt).

The tech tantrums, of course, have been caused by the acquisition of Twitter on the part of billionaire and provocateur Elon Musk, who recently allowed users of his new asset to determine, via Twitter poll, if former President Donald Trump should be allowed back on the platform after his account was permanently suspended in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incursion.

Vox Populi, Vox Dei

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) November 19, 2022

Trump has yet to tweet on the platform as he remains committed to his alternative social media site, Truth Social, but the mere restoration of his notorious account has apparently been too much to handle for many leftist, including the rich and (slightly) famous.

Business Insider recently rounded up the latest list, topped in its estimation by Rhimes and including singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, producer Ken Olin, actress Téa Leoni (oh, I remember her!), showrunner Brian Koppelman, and former pro-wrestler Mick Foley.

Many tweeted out their plans to exit on accounts that appear fully active — smart, since simply leaving the platform without saying anything would hardly make for good virtue-signaling:

Not hanging around for whatever Elon has planned. Bye.

— shonda rhimes (@shondarhimes) October 29, 2022

Welp. It’s been fun Twitter. I’m out. See you on other platforms, peeps. Sorry, this one’s just not for me. ❤🙏🏼

— Sara Bareilles (@SaraBareilles) October 30, 2022

Hey all –
I’m out of here. No judgement.
Let’s keep the faith.
Let’s protect our democracy.
Let’s try to be kinder.
Let’s try to save the planet.
Let’s try to be more generous.
Let’s look to find peace in the world.
💙

— Ken Olin (@kenolin1) October 28, 2022

I’m shocked and appalled at some of the “free speech” I’ve seen on this platform since its acquisition. Hate speech under the veil of “free speech” is unacceptable; therefore I am choosing to stay off Twitter as it is no longer a safe space for myself, my sons and other POC.

— Toni Braxton (@tonibraxton) October 29, 2022

To my friends on Twitter, I will be taking a step back from the platform for now.

Connect with me on Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram to stay informed and hear my latest personal and professional updates.

— Sully Sullenberger (@Captsully) November 9, 2022

To be fair, there were some celebrities who actually left Twitter — according to Business Insider: Jack White shared an open letter to Elon Musk on Instagram, still safely owned by the progressive technocrats over at Meta. Amber Heard, who briefly dated Musk, deleted her account, and Gigi Hadid made sure to let her Instagram followers know she’d deactivated hers.

Koppelman demurely moved his account to private (take that, free speech absolutists!), and “The Amazing Spider-Man” comic creator Erik Larsen deleted his account after sharing in April that this was the course he would take if Musk completed his deal to purchase Twitter.

Singer Liz Phair and actors David Dastmalchian and Jenny Slate deactivated their accounts, too.

And … life goes on.

There’s plenty to say about whether or not Musk’s takeover of Twitter will produce any fruit and what a future with an activated @RealDonaldTrump will hold for America and the world, but one thing’s certain: Pretty much nothing changed by these celebrities leaving the platform in a huff.

Should Trump start tweeting again?

Amandla Stenberg gets called out by film critic after actress criticizes her | Daily Mail Online

New York Times film critic Lena Wilson has called out actress Amandla Stenberg on social media.

Lena revealed she received a direct message on her Instagram from Amandla about the review she did for the film Bodies Bodies Bodies.

Amandla, who came out as gay in 2018, had taken offense for Lena’s copy that referred to cleavage, however the actress did call her NYT review ‘great.’

Lena’s review referring to the cleavage was one sentence, which read: ‘The only thing that really sets Bodies Bodies apart is its place in the A24 hype machine, where it doubles as a 95-minute advertisement for cleavage and Charli XCX’s latest single.’

Speaking out: New York Times film critic Lena Wilson has called out actress Amandla Stenberg on Twitter. Lena revealed she received a direct message on her Instagram from Amandla about the review she did for the film Bodies, Bodies Bodies Bodies

In 2018, Amandla said to Wonderland Magazine: ‘I was so overcome with this profound sense of relief when I realized that I’m gay. Not bi, not pan[sexual] but gay – with a romantic love for women. All of these things that felt so internally contrary to my truest self were rectified as I unraveled a long web of denial and self-deprivation.’

Lena, who is a lesbian, also tweeted: ‘Always weird when the homophobia is coming from inside the house but this is something,’ referring to the fact that they are both part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Lena pointed out that Amandla appeared to only zero in on her and not any other film critic.

Lena shared the DM from Amandla on her Twitter and TikTok.

In the DM, Amandla wrote: ‘Ur review was great, maybe if you had gotten ur eyes off my t**s you could’ve watched the movie!’

The latest: Amandla, who came out as gay in 2018, had taken offense for Lena’s copy that referred to cleavage, however the actress did call her review ‘great;’ pictured August 2 in NYC at the Bodies Bodies Bodies premiere

What was said: Lena shared the DM from Amandla on her Twitter and TikTok

Lena responded back to Amandla: ‘hey, Amandla! generally a big fan of your work, but this sure is something. really wishing you well in your career and life. have a nice night.’

The film critic then blocked the star on Instagram, as seen in the DM screenshot.

Lena also tweeted: ‘Do you think she Instagram DM’d Alison Willmore, Justin Chang and Anthony Lane like this or,’ adding the DM screenshot.

She also tweeted: ‘Always weird when the homophobia is coming from inside the house but this is something.’

From Twitter: She also tweeted about the message as well, noting that she only seemed to received a message about her review

Lena wrote another tweet: ‘me: (spends one line of a 500-word review facetiously commenting on how A24 objectifies young women to sell content). Random men on twitter dot com and also, apparently, Amandla Stenberg: Local d**e Cannot Stop Talking About Boobies.’

A24 is the distributor of the film.

She also took to TikTok and shared a video: ‘I haven’t been on here in a while but I was just checking my Instagram DMs because a really lovely kind person informed me that Jennifer’s Body is playing in 35mm at the Roxy this weekend. If you’re in New York you have to absolutely go to that. There are a disgusting amount of tickets left.’

Words: She also took to TikTok and shared a vide

‘I looked at my DM request and found this which I’m going to let speak for itself for a little bit. For context I have reviewed Bodies Bodies Bodies for the New York Times and I really didn’t like and I said so. Ironically I praised the acting though.’

‘I don’t want anything else to come from this, I’m devastated to have received this message in the first place. I was a genuine huge fan of hers but I’m posting it because I don’t want this person who has more social power than me to think that it’s f****n okay to do something like this. And that’s all.’

She captioned the TikTok: ‘Unfathomably weird to get “I don’t want you in the locker room while I’m changing” bullying from a whole other lesbian.’

Bodies Bodies Bodies is a comedy horror, directed by Halina Reijn.

Amandla stars alongside Maria Bakalova, Pete Davidson, Chase Sui Wonders, Lee Pace and Myha’la Herrold in the project.
