Back in 2019, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige told ComicBook.com that he and Marvel Studios had met with The Matrix and John Wick star Keanu Reeves. Since then, there has been no known movement coming out of their conversations but fans began tossing out their desired characters to have played by the action star. Now, years later, ComicBook.com got a chance to talk with Reeves ahead of his The Matrix Resurrections and the actor confirmed the talks.
“We haven’t yet,” Reeves said about finding a Marvel character to play, all while sat beside his Matrix co-star Carrie-Anne Moss who appeared in Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Defenders series. “We have met, and [Kevin Feige]’s a cool cat. Yeah. But no, we don’t have anything, gotta find something.”
One can only assume Reeves will inevitably join the Marvel family, sooner rather than later. The actor has made an incredible comeback into the Hollywood spotlight, making the John Wick franchise a household title, revisiting Bill & Ted, and now gearing up to go back to the Matrix. “We talk to him for almost every film we make,” Feige told ComicBook.com back in 2019. “We talk to Keanu Reeves about. I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.”
For now, Reeves’ primary focus is on his next outing as Neo. In The Matrix Resurrections, Reeves reprises his iconic role from the long-dormant franchise with mostly newcomers to the saga surrounding him. “I’m not great with advice,” he said of his relationship with the new Matrix cast members. “So I just wanted to be supportive and available and open and just say, ‘Thank you for being here. And let’s make a film and let’s have fun doing it and do the best we can.’ Yeah. Yeah, I spoke to Laurence [Fishburne] a bit. Yeah. I think Yahya [Abdul-Mateen II] did an amazing version and his own Morpheus, and I think how Lana Wachowski wrote the role and what it can mean inside of it, just a sentient program. Anyway, I don’t want to give too much away. But I think it’s a very interesting, and in the film, delightful evolution of the story.”
Chris Noth has been dropped from the CBS crime drama series The Equalizer following allegations of sexual assault, as The Hollywood Reporter reports.
“Chris Noth will no longer film additional episodes of The Equalizer, effective immediately,” CBS and Universal Television said in a statement Monday. The actor will appear in one more episode that has already been produced.
The news comes in the wake of the actor facing allegations from two women who separately came forward to THR in a story published last week with similar accounts accusing the actor of sexual assault. One woman alleged the actor sexually assaulted her in Los Angeles in 2004. The second woman alleged Noth sexually assaulted her at his New York apartment in 2015. Actress Zoe Lister-Jones also shared an incident one of her friends had with Noth, as well as her experience working with Noth on set. A third woman, “Ava,” also separately alleged Noth sexually assaulted her in 2010 when she was 18 years old and Noth was 55.
“The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false,” Noth said in a previous statement to Rolling Stone. “These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
In addition to being out at The Equalizer, Noth was dropped by A3 Artists Agency last Friday. That same day, a $12 million deal to acquire Noth’s tequila brand Ambhar was withdrawn by Entertainment Arts Research.

Actor Ben Affleck seemed to blame his marriage to actress Jennifer Garner for his substance abuse during a recent interview with host Howard Stern.
Affleck, who has been open about his alcoholism, said on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” that he felt “trapped” in his marriage to the actress, with whom he has children, and would “still” be in the throes of alcoholism if they were still together.
“We probably would’ve ended up at each other’s throats,” Affleck told Stern, according to PageSix. “I probably still would’ve been drinking. … Part of why I started drinking was because I was trapped.”
“I was like, ‘I can’t leave because of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do?’ And what I did was [I] drank a bottle of scotch and fell asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution,” the 49-year-old continued.
“Ultimately, we tried, we tried, we tried because we had kids, but both of us felt like we didn’t want this to be the model that our kids see of marriage.”
The couple, who have three kids together — Violet, 16, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, 9 — finalized their divorce in 2018, the same year Affleck checked into rehab for his addiction. Garner famously drove him to the rehab center.
“Everything you read [in the news about the divorce] was bulls***,” Affleck claimed. “The truth was we took our time; we made our decision … We grew apart. We had a marriage that didn’t work. This happens. She’s somebody I love and respect, but to whom I shouldn’t be married any longer.”
“We did it amicably,” he contended. “We did our best. Did we have moments of tension? Did we have disagreements over custody? Was stuff difficult for us? Did we get angry? Yes, but fundamentally it was always underpinned with a respect. … I knew she was a good mom. I always hoped she knew I was a good dad. I knew I was.”
Speaking generally of addiction, Affleck said the “cure” for the issue is “suffering.”
“The cure for addiction is suffering, you suffer enough, that something inside you goes, ‘I’m done,’” he said. “I’m lucky because I hit that point before I lost the things that were most important. Not my career or money — it was my relationship with my kids, and when I felt as if it impacted them, I recognized it.”
“It was the worst day of my life. I made amends … But since that day, I swear to Christ, I have not ever wanted to drink once.”
Speaking of his children, Affleck noted that they already have it hard with him and Garner being celebrities, and their public divorce did not help matters.
“Me and their mom are celebrities and that’s hard. Let’s not bulls*** each other, right? That’s a f***ing cross to bear, that’s an albatross already,” he said, “and then during the divorce, you know they printed horrible lies.”

Kathie Lee Gifford will never forget the moment she found out she’d become a grandmother.
The former TODAY co-host says she was floored when son Cody and wife Erika told her they are expecting their first child.
Kathie Lee says she was home preparing to begin a book tour on TODAY when she was sitting down with Cody and Erika, as well as friend Christine Gardner.
“Cody and Erika handed both of us something that was wrapped and asked that we please open at the same time,” she told People.
“It was a two-sided frame and mine read, ‘Can’t wait to meet you Grandma’ on one side and on the other was a photo of Cody and Erika holding their ultrasound. It took a moment to crystalize to me that this was their baby which meant that it was my baby too and I freaked and ran to hug Erika and so did Christine. To which Cody said, ‘What about me?’”
Erika announced her pregnancy on Monday in an Instagram video, prompting Kathie Lee to express her joy.
“Praise our LIVING, LOVING LORD!!!!” she commented on the post.
“I’m over a blue or pink moon!! I don’t give a rip which!!! So happy for our family!!” she added in another comment.
The idea that her family will expand hasn’t totally registered with Kathie Lee, either.
“It still hasn’t hit me fully!” she told People.
Kathie Lee may become a first-time grandmother, but she says the focus should be on Cody and Erika, who married in 2020, one year after getting engaged.
“It isn’t about me at all,” she said. “This was about celebrating with my son and his beautiful wife and their love for one another. This is a blessing from God in His way and in His timing.”
In addition to Cody, Kathie Lee also has daughter Cassidy with late husband Frank Gifford. Cassidy married husband Ben Wierda in June 2020. Her mother is bursting with pride when it comes to her children.
“I have long believed just by watching my children with other children and babies for years now that they are both made for parenthood,” she said. “And I’m so grateful that they both chose partners who are equally so.”
