Talladega Nights actor Houston Tumlin has passed away at the age of 28.

Tumlin, who was a child when he appeared in the 2006 Will Ferrell film, died by suicide according to Shelby County coroner Lina Evans, who spoke to TMZ.

Evans told the site Tumlin was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot to the head around 4:30pm on Tuesday at his Pelham, Alabama home.

Sources told TMZ Tumlin’s girlfriend was in the house at the time. A note has not been found.

The movie is his only professional film credit.

Tumlin was reportedly serving in the Army’s 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell in 2015 and according to TMZ, he dabbled in other work, like repairing telephone lines.

Tumlin’s Instagram showed happy moments, like cute photos of his dogs, work snaps, and stylish outfit shots.

Houston’s sister Hayden was in shock as she paid tribute to her brother on Instagram.

Under a photo of the siblings being silly, she wrote: ‘I lost my brother yesterday. This doesn’t feel real or right to be without him. He was so special to us. I will love you forever, bubba.’
