Courteney Cox in Low-Rise Jeans, Adidas Stan Smiths at Farmers’ Market – Footwear News

Courteney Cox Brings Back Low-Rise Jeans With Her Adidas Stan Smiths at the Farmers’ Market

High-waisted pants have reigned supreme in recent seasons — with celebs like Harry Styles bringing waistlines up higher than ever before. But Courteney Cox took things in a different direction with her latest ensemble.

While out and about at the farmers’ market in Malibu, Calif. with friends, the 56-year-old actress opted for loose-fitting, low-rise jeans that had an effortless, ’00s-inspired vibe. She paired the jeans with a black tank top, adding a straw hat, aviator sunglasses and a blue and white checked face mask to pull together the outfit.

Launched in 1972, the low-top sneaker was the first leather tennis shoe on the market. It was initially named after French tennis player Robert Haillet but was rechristened by Adidas following Haillet’s retirement, renamed after then-tennis pro Stan Smith. A favorite of men and women alike, the shoe has in recent years been a canvas for collaborators such as Stella McCartney and Pharrell Williams. It has also found its way onto famous feet aplenty, becoming a favorite for stars such as Hailey Baldwin, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake and even Kanye West.

Cox likes to hit the farmers’ market almost every Sunday, often opting for casual outfits with sweats, sneakers and T-shirts. Last weekend, the “Cougar Town” lead was photographed at the market wearing a little black dress with a V-neckline. She teamed the dress with beige big-toe sandals that nearly blended into her legs, accessorizing with a straw hat and a black-and-white gingham face mask.

Amber Heard expected to testify on Monday in Johnny Depp case

Amber Heard is expected to testify Monday in the explosive libel case brought by ex Johnny Depp against a British newspaper tabloid.

In the past two weeks, Heard has been ripped from the witness box by everyone from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star to his workers, who have accused her of being the physical aggressor in the doomed pair’s twisted short-lived marriage.

As Depp’s camp has fought to disprove The Sun’s claim that he was a “wife-beater” during his marriage to Heard, as alleged in a 2018 article, tales about the pair’s bizarre, destructive antics both in and out of the bedroom have taken center stage.

Heard’s testimony will kick off the third and expected final week in the case.

Dennis Rodman and Madonna’s Relationship Was a Whirlwind

Dennis Rodman, whose on- and off-the-court antics take center stage in the ESPN docuseries The Last Dance (which hits Netflix July 19), is known for his personal life as much as his incredible basketball record. Though it isn’t explicitly discussed in the series, fans of the player may remember all too well what might be considered his most high-profile relationship. Rodman and Madonna dated in 1994 (sources sometimes place the relationship later, but 1994 appears to be the relevant time period, per his 30 for 30 episode). The two only dated for two months, but it was highly publicized. Speculation is that Madonna may have had an effect on Rodman’s style and interest in publicity stunts at the time—like showing up to his book signing in a wedding dress in 1996—but Rodman has said she didn’t influence him. So what do we know about this couple?

Madonna and Rodman’s relationship was short but…wild.

Apparently, when the two met, Madonna locked Rodman in her hotel room and said, “I’m not letting you out.” He said he thought her music “sucked” and refused to call her Madonna, instead referring to her as “Tita.”

After the two dated, Rodman was fairly open about their sexual practices in memoir Bad As I Wanna Be. He also claimed, according to multiple sources, that Madonna wanted him to impregnate her (in some versions, he claims she offered him millions to do so, which Madonna denies). In his memoir, he said, “Madonna talked all the time about having a baby. I think she wanted every bit of Dennis Rodman—marriage, kids, everything.”

At one point while he was gambling in Vegas, “I picked up the phone and Madonna was like, ‘I’m ovulating, I’m ovulating. Get your ass up here’. So I left my chips on the table, flew five hours to New York and did my thing.” He added, “We got done and she was standing on her head in an attempt to promote conception—just like any girl trying to get pregnant. I flew back to Las Vegas and picked up my game where I left off.” Madonna doesn’t appear to have commented on that story.

Regarding a highly publicized story about Madonna coming into the Bulls locker room, Rodman commented on that as well:

Rodman has downplayed the relationship since.

Unlike with Carmen Electra, who he said he’d marry again if he got the chance, Rodman doesn’t speak as much about madonna. He said in his memoir that he didn’t want dating Madonna to eclipse his own identity. He did say he thought they were a “perfect match” but that “I still think of myself as this guy who had to claw his way up from a job as a janitor to get anything in life. So to be making a decision on how serious to get with Madonna was more than I could handle.”

In an interview he gave while he was still with the Spurs, around 2:25, he talks about the fact that they had a fling, downplaying their relationship and saying they’re “friends”:

To USA Today, Rodman explained that neither Madonna nor ex Carmen Electra were asked to be a part of his 30 for 30 episode “Rodman: For Better or Worse.” “We had a nice little fling. That came and gone. Madonna didn’t influence me to be a fashion and creative guru. We came together in the perfect time. She was stagnating in her career, and I was coming up. We helped to motivate each other, going in the same direction at that particular time.”

Beyoncé Details ‘Black Is King’ Visual Album, Shares New Trailer – Rolling Stone

Beyoncé has shared the new trailer for Black Is King, her new visual album inspired by The Lion King: The Gift and arriving on Disney+ on July 31st.

“You were formed by the heat of the galaxy. What a thing to be, both unique and familiar,” Beyoncé says in voiceover. “To be one and the same, and still unlike any other.”

Black Is King arrives two weeks after the one-year anniversary of The Lion King’s theatrical release. “The film reimagines the lessons from the 2019 blockbuster for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns,” Disney said.

As seen in the trailer, Black Is King will feature guests Jay-Z, fellow Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland, Pharrell Williams, Tina Knowles-Lawson, Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Campbell, models Aweng Ade-Chuol and Adut Akech and many of the artists that appear on The Gift album.

Beyoncé’s collaborators on the project include her frequent music video director Jake Nava, Pierre Debusschere, “This Is America” creative director Ibra Ake, filmmakers Blitz Bazawule, Emmanuel Adjei, Dikayl Rimmasch and Jenn Nkiru and Beyoncé’s longtime collaborator Kwasi Fordjour. Beyoncé is credited as writer, director and executive producer on the visual album.

In addition to its July 31st premiere on Disney+, the film also secured a distribution deal that will allow for its showing on much of the African continent, including South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Namibia, Cameroon, Liberia, Burundi, Senegal, Togo, Somalia, Benin, Congo, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Gabon, Cape Verde and more.

“The voyages of Black families, throughout time, are honored in a tale about a young king’s transcendent journey through betrayal, love and self-identity. His ancestors help guide him toward his destiny, and with his father’s teachings and guidance from his childhood love, he earns the virtues needed to reclaim his home and throne,” Disney previously said of Black Is King.

“These timeless lessons are revealed and reflected through Black voices of today, now sitting in their own power. Black Is King is an affirmation of a grand purpose, with lush visuals that celebrate Black resilience and culture. The film highlights the beauty of tradition and Black excellence.”

Days of Our Lives Spoilers Next 2 Weeks: Baby Adoption Shocker – Birth, Bomb Blast and Deadly Kidnapping | Celeb Dirty Laundry

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for the next two weeks tease that some tight spots are in store for several Salemites. During the week of July 20-24, Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) will face a tough blow. Once Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) suddenly gets ill and assumes it’s just her maid of honor’s latest sabotage, she’ll kick Claire out of the wedding party.

Belle Black (Martha Madison) and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) will grill their daughter, but Claire will promise she only wanted to get her friendship with Ciara back on track.

Even so, concerns will rev up after Claire gets tripped up by her own deception. There’s a good chance this involves Claire’s lie about the save-the-date card and how she knew about Ciara’s wedding in advance.

After a bomb blast causes mayhem at Ciara and Ben Weston’s (Robert Scott Wilson) wedding, Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) will be rushed to the hospital. It looks like Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) will obey Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) orders and turn down Allie’s offer as well.

During the week of July 27-31, Allie will have some positive updates for Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) and Will Horton (Chandler Massey). Will and Sonny will apparently learn Rafe passed up his chance at adopting the baby, so “WilSon” will happily start making plans for their new bundle of joy.

Meanwhile, Sami will push Rafe not to tell Allie about how she’s manipulated the situation, but Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) will find out anyway. It won’t be long until Nicole exposes Sami’s scheming to Allie, who’ll go into labor and ban her mom from the delivery room.

Instead, it’ll be Nicole who Allie wants by her side for the birth. Back with Will and Sonny, they’ll fill Arianna Horton (Sydney Brower) in on the little brother or sister she’s getting.

Ari wasn’t all that thrilled when they raised the possibility, but Sonny and Will may be able to win her over. Perhaps Will and Sonny could promise a puppy as well as just plan on a very full house!

Back with Rafe, he’ll interrogate Claire about the bomb and perhaps determine that she couldn’t have planted it. As for Ciara, she’ll pay Clyde Weston (James Read) a visit in prison and confront him about the wedding chaos.

There’s no word on why Ciara will suspect Clyde, but maybe it’ll just be a matter of desperation. Ciara will be searching for answers since Ben will be missing after the ceremony.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Ciara will settle on a new theory eventually, so she’ll share that theory with Rafe. Whether Ciara’s right or wrong, she’ll have some help. Ciara will make amends with Claire, who’ll assure Ciara that she wants to help. Claire and Ciara will join forces to find Ben before it’s too late.

As for Ben, he’ll become someone’s hostage – and it looks like that someone will be Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva)! Ben’s history will cause major drama for him as his captor reveals his or her identity along with devious plans.

Over with Ciara and Claire again, a shocking revelation will hit them hard. It sounds like Claire and Ciara will realize Eve’s out for vengeance because of Paige Larson’s (True O’Brien) death.

Next, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) will fume over some DiMera Enterprises developments. Days spoilers say Chad will learn Gabi Hernandez DiMera’s (Camila Banus) been busy plotting behind his back.

Finally, Gwen (Emily O’Brien) will officially take up residence in the DiMera mansion – and Jake will do the same. It sounds like Chad may invite Gwen to stay while Gabi brings in Jake. With these four under one roof, it’s probably a disaster waiting to happen! We’ll provide updates as other Days news rolls in.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say some chaotic moments are coming up, so keep watching. CDL will have tons of other scorching Days of Our Lives spoilers, updates and news for you, so make sure to stop by again soon.

Television Titanics & Sunken Screen Pairings: Bones, Supergirl & More

One of the best parts of following a television series over time is watching the development of romantic relationships between your favorite characters. There is an awesome feeling that comes with watching a couple you have been rooting for finally get together onscreen. Not all long-awaited or much-hyped television relationships end in sunshine and roses, however. Some run their course, others are foiled by plot points or casting changes, and a good number fall to the network’s cancellation ax. Unfortunately, there are also those pesky onscreen romances that never seem to survive their maiden voyage. Much like the doomed Titanic, these relationships sink due to a fatal mix of: lack of chemistry, bad writing, poor timing, and awful characters. Sometimes even ‘ships you have been waiting for end up at the bottom of a sea of disappointment. Let’s take a look back at a few of modern television’s biggest relationship disasters, emotional wreckage and all. Fair warning, MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD abound.

Ted and Robin – “How I Met Your Mother”

The relationship between Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) and Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders) became the romantic centerpiece of How I Met Your Mother in the very first episode. However, as the show progressed, the relationship between Ted and Robin became a television version of You’ve Got Mail. Ted and Robin, a couple no one was rooting for, ended up together only after Ted stripped Robin of everything that made her awesome in the first place. While the couple was much better as friends, Ted found ways to change Robin to his “ideal woman” even then. I honestly preferred Robin with Barney, at least with him she could be herself (Neil Patrick Harris).

Rachel and Joey – “Friends”

To this day, many years after Friends ended, I have no idea why writers decided to pair Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Joey (Matt LeBlanc). Possibly it was because the characters were already living together and in close quarters, so the show tried it out? I personally think that show-runners had just run out of couple configurations on the show and wanted something to do with Rachel before she ended up with Ross (David Schwimmer) for good. Regardless, the relationship was a complete fail from the start. Rachel and Joey both served similar comedic and plot purposes on the show, so putting them together was just too much. Additionally, Aniston and LeBlanc had less chemistry than a pair of raw carrots.

Dawson and Joey – “Dawson’s Creek”

Throughout the first several seasons of Dawson’s Creek, writers wanted viewers to root for Dawson (James Van Der Beekand Joey (Katie Holmes). The audience was drawn into the will-they-or-won’t-they of childhood friends. When the couple finally got together, however, it was just awkward. Despite how long everyone had been waiting for the relationship to happen, viewers suddenly wanted it to end. With all of the passion you would expect of two high-schoolers hesitantly kissing each other for the school play, the long-awaited relationship ended up cringe-worthy. Luckily, the relationship disaster between Joey and Dawson highlighted the superiority of Pacey (Joshua Jackson).

George and Izzie – “Grey’s Anatomy”

Another stop on the “what were they thinking” tour, the relationship between Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) and George O’Malley (T.R. Knight) on Grey’s Anatomy never should have happened. Writers used the relationship between the two friends as a vehicle to end Callie (Sara Ramirez) and George’s marriage, and the execution was atrocious. While Heigl and Knight worked well onscreen as friends, it was obvious to viewers that any romantic chemistry was dead on arrival. This storyline was so bad, I blocked most of this relationship from my television memory.

John Carter and Susan Lewis – “ER”

The only positive thing that can be said for the onscreen romantic relationship between Dr. Carter (Noah Wyle) and Dr. Lewis (Sherry Stringfield) on ER is that it was thankfully short. Carter was crushing on Lewis in the first few seasons of the show before Stringfield left the first time. Then, Lewis returns several years later and Carter tries to live out his teacher fantasies. Almost every single interaction this couple had was awkward and forced, not to mention Carter was supposedly in love with someone else at the time. Some crushes should just stay crushes.

Supergirl and… Everyone – “Supergirl”

Guest Contributor Andy Wilson Writes: Supergirl writers have tried half a dozen different guys to pair up with Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) and they’ve all failed in one way or another. Supergirl and Jimmy Olson (Mehcad Brooks)? No thank you – so awkward. Then there was that crush that Winn (Jeremy Jordan) had on her. Double awkward – they were both better than that. Kara and Mon-El (Chris Wood)? Well, that almost worked but ended in tragedy, and really didn’t last all that long. Plus, the relationship was always still going to be based on him being mean to her at the beginning – so problematic. And that brings us to our current situation with William (Staz Nair). Stop trying to make this ‘ship happen! Let Kara be single for a while.

Temperance Brennan and Seeley Booth – “Bones”

Right from the very first episode of Bones, I ‘shipped Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). The fun chemistry between the direct scientist and the driven agent, as well as the onscreen presence of Deschanel and Boreanaz, had me hooked right from the beginning. I loved their interactions and waited for literal years for them to get together. But, writers decided to draw out the suspense too long. And, before Booth and Brennan had a chance to start an onscreen romance, Emily Deschanel’s pregnancy needed to be written into the show. So, the show just pretended that the two main characters had been sleeping together on the sly for a while. Suddenly, fans went from wishing for a Booth/Brennan relationship to finding out that the two of them had started a relationship without us, and had a baby on the way. The television show picked up as if this was not at all strange for the audience, and the couple went forward to eventual somewhat wedded bliss. But for viewers, everything was forced and accelerated, like picking up a romance novel and only reading the part after the couple gets together. The writing choices and the instant Booth-Bones family made the relationship less believable, and a huge letdown.
