Dr. Fauci thinks Brad Pitt “did great” impersonating him on “Saturday Night Live” – CBS News

Dr. Anthony Fauci has seen his face on T-shirts, bobblehead dolls and even donuts — but you know you’ve become a pop culture icon when “Saturday Night Live” does a skit about you. And Fauci was pleased to see he wasn’t portrayed by just anybody — Brad Pitt played him on last Saturday’ episode.

In an interview with Telemundo, the 79-year-old director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases reacted to the 56-year-old heartthrob’s portrayal. “I think he did great. I mean, I’m a great fan of Brad Pitt, and that’s the reason why when people ask me who’d I like to play me I mention Brad Pitt because he’s one of my favorite actors,” Fauci said.

“He showed he’s really a class act when at the end he took of his hair [wig] and he thanked me and all the health care workers,” Fauci continued. “So not only is he a really great actor, he’s actually a really classy person.”

In the cold open of Saturday’s show, Pitt wore a gray wig and glasses to resemble Fauci and impersonated the doctor’s thick New York accent. Pitt, as Fauci, joked about the women who send him flattering emails and pointedly corrected things President Trump has said. As a member of the White House coronavirus task force, Fauci appears alongside Mr. Trump at many meetings and press briefings, and their messages have clashed from time to time.

At the end of the skit, Pitt stepped out of character and thanked Fauci for his “calm and clarity during this unnerving time,” and went on to express gratitude to all of America’s frontline workers.

Pitt was a natural choice to play Fauci — the doctor himself said in a previous interview that he’d like to see the actor portray him.

“SNL” is know for its celebrity cameos, and Pitt wasn’t the only surprise appearance during Saturday’s episode — Charles Barkley and DJ Khaled also appeared in a sketch.

Like the rest of the episode, the cold open was not filmed in a studio or with an audience due to social distancing guidelines. It was the second episode that the cast produced from their homes.

Meghan Apparently Jealous Of Kate As Friend Spills The Beans On Her Private Chats

Meghan Markle is sorry that she is not Kate Middleton, according to a close friend who gave the interview to the Daily Mail. She is apparently sour that if she was the Duchess of Cambridge, not Sussex, the whole royal family would have helped her from the hunt-down of the tabloid papers.

‘[Meghan said] no one would have put up with it, and the broken and outdated system would have been revised. Those outlets responsible for their vicious attacks would have been shut out,’ the friend explained.

This comes as Harry and Meghan announced last week that there would be ‘no corroboration and zero engagement’ with four UK tabloids as there surely will be no good coming out from talking with these papers. The anonymous friend said: ‘Meghan said no one in the royal family should be surprised with the announcement.

”If Kate was being criticized no one would put up with it.’ Bitter Meghan tells friends the palace favored her sister-in-law and would have attacked the UK tabloids if she were the one relentlessly picked on to protect his family. Meghan said Harry needed to take a stand for her, their son and his mother. [If it was Kate who kept being ]constantly criticized and needlessly bashed(…) changes within the royal’s media policy would have been made. No questions asked.’

Prince Harry had obviously tried to stop this from happening by talking in depth with Prince Charles and HRH Queen Elizabeth II personally, but Meghan sighed that it had been to no avail.  ‘[Meghan] said it was infuriating that Harry’s very real and valid concerns fell on deaf ears. Meghan said they made it seem like this is the way it is, deal with it. Harry had been dealing with it far too long. She said he wasn’t going to let this destroy her life and their marriage.’

The friend went on to elaborate: ‘Meghan said when she was living in England, she was being bullied by the media non-stop and Harry knew he had to do something dramatic to protect her and the family. She said she was being treated unfairly and picked on for everything she did including rubbing her belly too much when she was pregnant. She said there was no way she was going to go through motherhood being criticized for every little thing she did. She said she told Harry that it was only going to get worse, It was a no win situation and the only solution was to take control of their own lives.

‘Harry needed to take a stand for her, their son and his mother. Meghan said Harry made it crystal clear that they could not function in good faith under the current system… and that if it wasn’t revised and updated to their liking, they would have no other choice than to break from the royal family. She said no one took his pleas seriously, so they had to take the issue into their own hands. This was about protecting the family and doing right by Princess Diana. She said the British tabloids have haunted Harry since childhood and should have been kicked out of the media pool long ago. The system is broken and Harry wanted to fix it. She said he needed to take a stand and now they are doing it together.’

Gigi Hadid, 25, is ’20 weeks pregnant’ | Daily Mail Online

Vogue supermodel Gigi Hadid is reportedly pregnant with her first child, according to TMZ.

And the father is her 27-year-old on-again British boyfriend Zayn Malik, a solo singer who came to fame with the band One Direction.

The Victoria’s Secret veteran seemed to have a bit of a baby bump as she posed with the Dusk Till Dawn hitmaker this week during her 25th birthday while in self-isolation with her family at their farm in Pennsylvania.

The bump was starting to pop: There is a little bump here as she wears washed jeans

The site claims that the beauty is 20 weeks along and likely does not know the gender of the child yet.

In February, Gigi hinted that she was thinking of having children.

During an interview with i-D Magazine she said, ‘I think that as I get older, well one day I’ll start a family and I don’t know if I will always be modeling.

‘I love the creative side of fashion, it’s so fulfilling. The people I work with make me so happy, I’m so lucky to be around them. But who knows? Maybe I’ll take up full time cooking!’

The two started dating in 2015 when they met on the set of his music video for Pillow Talk. Fans caught on that they were a couple when the pair were photographed leaving Justin Bieber’s American Music Awards after-party together.

Closer than ever: Their love for each other was made clear in this image where they hugged each other; Gigi looked thrilled

A happy lady: At her birthday breakfast Gigi wore a tiara as she sat with Bella and her mother Yolanda Hadid

They were soon inseparable and even posed together in Naples, Italy for Vogue magazine’s April 2016 edition.

At the Met Gala in NYC in May 2016, Gigi was seen cuddling her main man on the red carpet.

The cover girl and the crooner became the It couple of New York and London as he went to her fashion shows and she attended his concerts.

They lived together in her NYC apartment for years and kept company with her sister Bella as well as family friend Kendall Jenner.

Back on! When this photo emerged of them in January, it was made clear they are back on

But then they shocked fans when they broke up in 2018. Zayn posted a message to social media that they had a ‘loving and fun’ relationship but were going their separate ways.

In 2019 they were seen together here and there, and by December it was clear they were more than friends when she said she was baking for him using his mother’s recipe.

In January they were seen together arm in arm in New York City and in February she let everyone know they were together on Valentine’s Day when she shared a photo of the singer.

On her birthday Gigi was seen in a black turtleneck tucked into her belted, washed jeans. She was showing a bit of a baby bump.

Gigi and Zayn were also photographed in a warm embrace as she had a beautiful glow with a makeup-free face.

So much attention: The cover girl and the crooner became the It couple of New York and London as he went to her fashion shows and she attended his concerts. Seen in October 2016 in Paris

Gigi came to fame when her mother was on The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.

The blonde beauty landed editorials in Vogue and became a Guess girl; she rose to A-list when she worked with Tommy Hilfiger.

And quickly Hadid became known for her high-profile personal life.

The doe-eyed looker was with Cody Simpson from 2013 until 2015, then moved on to Joe Jonas soon after.

No bump: On February 27 while in Paris Gigi looked far from pregnant

No belly here either: On March 3, Gigi showed a flat tunny on the Chanel runway in Paris

In late 2015 she met Zayn.

Earlier this year she spent time with Bachelor star Tyler Cameron but that appeared to be more of a friendship.

Zayn became a celebrity as a teen when he got a spot in One Direction.

The swarthy, smooth-voiced star first started dating Geneva Lane, then Rebecca Ferguson, Stephanie Davis, Perrie Edwards and Neelam Gill.

Then he fell hard for Hadid.

‘Goosebumps’ Getting a Fresh Television Series Reboot

There has been a resurgence of anthology-based horror entertainment lately and perhaps the one that deserves a television reboot the most is R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps which, according to Deadline, is getting one.

In 1995 Canada ran a TV show based on the teen horror stories which lasted three seasons. Now Scholastic Entertainment is pairing with Goosebumps and Goosebumps 2 movie producer Neal H. Moritz for a new development.

Goosebumps has been keeping kids and families on the edge of their seats for nearly 30 years and we’re very excited to partner with Sony Pictures Television and Neal H. Moritz to bring the enduring brand to life in a fresh new way for today’s generation,” said Iole Lucchese., Scholastic Entertainment President and Chief Strategy Officer. “From the world-famous book series to a full-scale licensing program and even live-action movies starring Jack Black, Goosebumps remains wildly popular and we look forward to presenting new adventures to give fans even more Goosebumps.”

The books are staples for teenage readership with over 60 books included in the original series and a number of additional titles made for a spin off set.

Goosebumps eventually headed to the big screen in two films starring Jack Black also produced by Moritz.

For those who can’t wait for this new incarnation, the original series is available on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, iTunes, Google Play, and Vudu.

“I loved making the Goosebumps movies and can’t wait to bring even more of R. L. Stine’s incredible stories to life through a high-end television series that speaks to both adults and kids alike,” said Moritz.

Nelly Says If He Was From New York He Would Be The “Biggest Rapper Of All Time” | Genius

Nelly is a proud product of St. Louis, Missouri, but he sees an advantage in being an East Coast artist. During a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Nelly theorized that being from New York City would have given his career a greater boost than he got from repping the midwest.

“This is why we always gotta go through the process that we go through to get our credit. I know that if Nelly was from the East Coast, he would be the biggest rapper of all time,” said Nelly. He noted that the inherent advantage of proximity to music media would have been an enormous benefit to his career.

“New York is the media capital of the world. Y’all take mediocre and make it good, y’all take good and make it great, y’all take it great and make it iconic,” he said. “I’m talking about as far as the media is concerned. I’m a country dude. When you a country dude and you stay in the country that don’t resonate the same way… Ain’t nobody in New York got a diamond plaque but Biggie my n*gga. I was the biggest rapper in the world because of what I sold and what I did, not because of my perception.”

The St. Louis rapper is referencing The Notorious B.I.G.’s Diamond-certified 1997 sophomore album, Life After Death. Nelly also has a Diamond-certified album with his 2000 breakout, Country Grammar. The only other rappers who have managed to earn Diamond albums are Eminem, OutKast, MC Hammer, and 2Pac, none of whom are New York artists (although Pac was born in East Harlem).

During the interview DJ Envy repeatedly credited Nelly with being “the biggest rapper in the world” at one point, a sentiment that his early 2000s commercial success backs up. The rapper ultimately gave NYC props for helping him to develop his career.

“At the end of the day, I credit New York with helping Nelly to be a star, and I always say that. I wouldn’t be nothing without New York,” he said.

Although Nelly is no longer the sales juggernaut he once was, his catalog remains one of hip-hop’s biggest commercial successes. He has five albums certified Platinum or higher and 14 Top 10 hit songs to his name, including four No. 1s.

After Postponement, 2020 ACM Awards Will Take Place in Nashville

The ACM Awards will take place in Nashville for the first time ever in 2020. Following the annual awards show’s postponement due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Academy of Country Music announced on Monday (April 27) its new plans to bring the event to Music City.

Per a press release, the 2020 ACM Awards will take place at three iconic Nashville venues: the Ryman Auditorium, the Grand Ole Opry House and the Bluebird Cafe. The show is set for Sept. 16.

“While we were disappointed to postpone our April show in Las Vegas, we couldn’t be more thrilled to host the rescheduled 55th ACM Awards in the home of country music for the first time in the Academy’s history,” ACM CEO Damon Whiteside says, adding that the decision to move for the year was made “to ensure the safety of our artists and industry, and to ease the burdens of traveling large teams.”

“Now, more than ever, is the time to bring our community together to honor the best in our genre, and there is no more special place to do that than three of the most revered venues in Country Music,” Whiteside adds. “A huge thank you to these historic venues and to the state of Tennessee and city of Nashville for all of the support in making this a reality!”

The 2020 ACM Awards were originally set to take place in Las Vegas, Nev., on April 5. Las Vegas has hosted the show every year since 2003, except for in 2015, when the ACM Awards moved to Arlington, Texas, for the show’s 50th anniversary. Prior to 2003, the ACMs took place in the Los Angeles area.

“Country music has been our voice and our companion through so many difficult times, and now it is our comfort as we confront and defeat the coronavirus,” says Mayor Cooper. “I’m excited to join country music fans worldwide to celebrate with the Academy of Country Music and artists that uplift and inspire us all in these extraordinary times.”

The ACM’s press release notes that national, state and local health guidelines, along with additional safety measures set forth by the ACM and Dick Clark Productions, will guide their plans during the production. As all mass gatherings are currently on hold and social distancing is recommended, no information about if fans will be allowed to attend the show in person was made available.

The 2020 ACM Awards are set to air live on CBS beginning at 8PM ET. Keith Urban, the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year, will host the show.

Gospel singer Troy Sneed has died from complications related to the coronavirus. He was 52.

Sneed’s publicist Bill Carpenter said the singer died early Monday at a hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. Sneed earned a Grammy nomination for his work on the Youth For Christ’s 1999 album, “Higher.”

Sneed traveled throughout the United States early in his career to sing the gospel with the Georgia Mass Choir. He arranged music on their albums and appeared with the choir in 1996 film, “The Preacher’s Wife,” starring Whitney Houston and Denzel Washington.

Sneed helped form Youth For Christ, which was comprised of members between the ages of 12 and 18 from the Georgia Mass Choir. He served as a producer on Youth For Christ’s “The Struggle Is Over,” which landed at No. 1 on Billboard’s gospel songs chart in 2006.

As a solo artist, Sneed released seven albums and had several hit songs within the gospel realm, including “Work It Out” and “My Heart Says Yes,” which both peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s gospel chart. He’s also known for the upbeat “Hallelujah.”

Sneed and his wife, Emily, started their own record label Emtro, which is a blend of their first names. Their label became a success with a roster of artists from Alvin Darling & Celebration and Rev. Rudolph McKissick.
