Kanye West officially becomes a billionaire according to forbes report | Daily Mail Online

Kanye West has officially joined the billionaires club.

In a Forbes Magazine article published Friday, it reveals how the rapper recently provided documents to the publication, giving them an “authentic numeric look into Kanye, Inc.” to prove the feat.

After going through the evidence, the publication has confirmed the rapper’s financial status, noting that it was something that West had previously claimed during an appearance at the 2019 Fast Company Innovation Festival.

He’s made it: Kanye West has officially joined the billionaires club, according to a Friday report from Forbes Magazine

“When I did Forbes, I showed them a $890 million receipt and they still didn’t say ‘billionaire,'” Kanye told the audience.

Forbes’ Zack O’Malley Greenburg reveals in the article how eager the rapper was for it to be known that he had reached this financial milestone, claiming that West’s team provided the outlet with proof of his earnings.

The publication has valued West’s assets at just over a billion, claiming that he is worth around $1.26 billion, while the rapper had claimed that the figure was around $3 billion.

Credit due: The publication has valued West’s assets at just over a billion, claiming that he is worth around $1.26 billion, while the rapper had claimed that the figure was around $3 billion.

The news comes after West’s sister-in-law Kylie Jenner, 22, was named by Forbes as the youngest ‘self-made’ billionaire for the second year in a row after selling off 51% of her cosmetics brand.

When that annual billionaires list appeared earlier this month, the writer of the article claims that West was not happy with his name being absent.

“You know what you’re doing,” O’Malley Greenburg claims West texted. “You’re toying with me and I’m not finna lye [sic] down and take it anymore in Jesus name.”

Ouch: When that annual billionaires list appeared earlier this month, which featured Kylie Jenner for a second year in a row, Kanye was reportedly unhappy to be left out

He is then claimed to have texted that Forbes was “purposely a part of a group of media” that was unwilling to give him the credit he was asking for because of his race.

Per the report, West’s team provided statements that showed the rapper has $17 million in cash, $35 million in stocks, $81 million in “buildings and improvements” and $21 million in land.

The article notes that the money in buildings and land come mainly from the homes that she shares with wife Kim Kardashian West, and their children North West, six, Psalm West, four, Saint West, two, and Chicago West, 11 months.

Forbes also delved into Adidas Yeezy, the fashion collaboration between the rapper and the German sportswear brand, which they claim has a revenue worth of around $1.3 billion – making West around $140 million from sales just last year.

Forbes estimate that West’s Yeezy cut of the $140 million makes his stake worth about $1.4 billion, however, they noted that it’s a ‘private, highly-illiquid $1.4 billion’ pegging it closer to $1.26 billion.

However, the article reveals that West was unhappy with their calculations, stressing that he believes his assets prove that he is worth $3 billion.

“It’s not a billion,” West allegedly texted the publication Thursday night. “It’s $3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count.”

These 41 Celebrities Are Looking More Like Regular People During The Quarantine

Less than 1% of population, aka the rich and famous, are known for their killer looks and to-die-for style. But the lockdown is bringing the stars back down to Earth. And those a-listers are falling like proper meteoroids.

From sporting stained sweats to growing that beard out like Tom Hanks in Castaway, these quarantined celebrities have surely forgotten the fashion police. We’re all just humans after all. And there’s just as much you can do to look sharp for an hour-long Zoom meeting. The rest is reserved for the sweet feeling of not givin’ a damn. But don’t get surprised seeing the stark difference in the before quarantine vs. after pics. They’ve changed, but so have we.

The total number of coronavirus cases has now reached 2.7 million cases worldwide with 869,172 cases reported in the US alone, according to the data from Johns Hopkins University. And some the most well-known celebrities aren’t immune to the virus. Actors Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were among the famous Americans confirmed to have Covid-19.

The 63-year old actor was filming for Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic in Australia when he tested positive with the virus. Tom Hanks announced the news on Instagram: “Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”

Singer Pink and her 3-year-old son have also contracted coronavirus and recounted their experience on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. “It started with Jameson, actually, and you know, he’s three—they get sick all the time,” she said. But after the family went into self-isolation, Pink started having some symptoms too. “I got it the second-worst [out of my family]; I’m 40, I have asthma, and I’m fit as a fiddle,” she told Ellen. According to the Rolling Stone, the singer donated 1 million dollars to hospitals in LA and Philadelphia upon announcing she had the illness.

Pink Floyd Streaming Live At Pompeii For Free on YouTube | Consequence of Sound

The prospect of reuniting Pink Floyd sounds like a “fucking awful” idea to Roger Waters, but the band is committed to keeping fans occupied during this period of self-isolation. Last week, they launched their new weekly YouTube concert series by streaming 1995’s Pulse. Now, today they’ve unlocked their classic 1972 film, Live At Pompeii.

The 2016 re-edited version of Live At Pompeii, as it appeared in Pink Floyd’s The Early Years box set, will stream on YouTube for free beginning at 12:00 p.m. EDT. But fair warning: The stream will only be active for 24 hours.

Live at Pompei features Pink Floyd performing inside in an empty ancient Roman amphitheatre in Pompeii, Italy. With Adrian Maben’s cameras rolling, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason played songs including “Careful With That Axe, Eugene”, A Saucerful Of Secrets”, “One Of These Days”, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun”, and “Echoes”.

In 2016, Gilmour returned to Pompeii and performed two concerts, this time with an audience. His performances were later released as their own concert film and live album.

Next Friday, Pink Floyd will stream their 1970 performance at KQED Studios in San Francisco.

Mick Jagger Responds to Paul McCartney’s ‘Beatles Were Better’ Claim – Rolling Stone

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards went on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music show this week to promote the new Rolling Stones single, “Living in a Ghost Town,” which also gave them an opportunity to respond to Paul McCartney’s recent claim that the Beatles were a better band than the Stones.

“[The Stones] are rooted in the blues,” McCartney recently told Howard Stern. “When they are writing stuff, it has to do with the blues. We had a little more influences. There’s a lot of differences, and I love the Stones, but I’m with you. The Beatles were better.”

This is part of a friendly rivalry that goes back nearly 60 years, and Jagger laughed when it came up. “That’s so funny,” he said. “He’s a sweetheart. There’s obviously no competition.”

But he did elaborate on what he saw as the big difference between the two bands. “The Rolling Stones is a big concert band in other decades and other areas, when the Beatles never even did an arena tour, Madison Square Garden with a decent sound system,” he said. “They broke up before that business started, the touring business for real.”

“We started doing stadium gigs in the Seventies and [are] still doing them now,” he continued. “That’s the real big difference between these two bands. One band is unbelievably luckily still playing in stadiums, and then the other band doesn’t exist.”

He didn’t address McCartney’s claim that the Stones copied Sgt. Pepper when they released Their Satanic Majesties Request. “We started to notice that whatever we did, the Stones sort of did it shortly thereafter,” McCartney said. “We went to America and we had huge success. Then the Stones went to America. We did Sgt. Pepper, the Stones did a psychedelic album. There’s a lot of that.”

The Stones were supposed to launch another North American leg of their No Filter Tour this summer, but they’ve had to indefinitely postpone the dates because of the COVID-19 pandemic. They did perform “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” on the recent One World: Together At Home broadcast. And their new single, “Living in a Ghost Town,” is their first original song since 2012.

“I’ll Be Pulverized”: Erykah Badu Settles The Lauryn Hill Vs Badu Battle Debate

"I'll Be Pulverized": Erykah Badu Settles The Lauryn Hill Vs Badu Battle Debate

Not everyone agrees though.

Debates pitting artists against one another is very common on social media, and even moreso with Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s Verzuz battle series currently happening. Some artists themselves have even joined in; earlier this week French Montana declared that he could go “neck for neck” against Kendrick Lamar, a statement that a nunber of rap fans and even fellow rappers (looking at you, Young Thug) disagreed with.

Now, one of the latest pairings to pop up on social media? Erykah Badu versus Lauryn Hill.

READ: Erykah Badu’s Quarantine Series Is An Innovative Blueprint For Online Concert Experiences

On April 22, Facebook user Jadamion Gibbs shared the following post: “Hit for hit Lauryn Hill vs Erykah Badu .”

The post has received over 140 comments, with some people caping for Badu while others are in Hill’s corner.

The post even made its way Twitter, where the debate continued.

Badu herself even participated in the discussion, and named Hill the winner, writing on Twitter: “I’ll be pulverized.”

Debates centered around Badu and Hill have been prevalent on the internet for years. Seriously, years. It’s very, very unlikely that the next Verzuz series would feature the two artists. Badu has been busy with her Quarantine conncert series, which she completed the third edition of on Sunday (April 19).
