Now on VOD: STRAY DOLLS, If You Want the Rainbow, You Gotta Have Rain

Without straying too far from our mission statement — to focus on indie and international genre films — I believe I can say that we all want the rainbow.

There! I said it! Of course, if you want the rainbow, you gotta have the rain first, as the trailer for Stray Dolls nicely explains.

Our own Christopher Webster reported last month that the film would be releasing today, and, indeed, as of today, it is now available on various VOD platforms. Here is more of Mr. Webster’s story:

“In Sonejuhi Sinha’s taut and topical debut crime thriller Stray Dolls, a young Indian immigrant is pulled into a whirlwind of criminal activity by her persuasive roommate.

“The film … was nominated for the Best Narrative Feature award at the Tribeca Film Festival, and landed Sinha on Indiewire’s 25 Rising Female Directors to Know list.

Stray Dolls hosts a compelling cast in Geetanjali Thapa (Trapped) as the conflicted Riz, with Olivia DeJonge (Better Watch Out) playing Dallas.

“Cynthia Nixon, of Sex and the City fame, stars as Una, the owner of a seedy motel where Riz finds a job.”

Samuel Goldwyn Films is releasing the film on the following platforms:

Digital EST/VOD
Google Play

Cable & Satellite VOD
InDemand (Spectrum, Comcast, Cox, Cablevision, etc)

The trailer should let you know if the film is up your personal dark alley. Should you choose to do so, you may watch it below.

The incredible backstory behind the opening of Netflix’s ‘Tigertail’

With his script in order, Yang began scouting locations in Taiwan.

Yang found the perfect one, but there was just one problem, as his location scout pointed out. “He said, ‘Just to let you know, these will be entirely yellow in a week,’” Yang recalls. “‘They’ll all be yellow all around the country.’”

Apparently, there was something wrong with the camera lenses. There would be sharp footage of blades of grass but nothing visible beyond 5 feet.

“It was incredibly scary,” Yang says. “I told my DP this has never happened on anything I’ve ever worked on. And he said likewise—in his 20-year career.”

And then a typhoon set course for Yang’s production.

“They’re telling me a typhoon’s coming,” Yang says. “This is all happening while we’re shooting. We’re doing these 16-hour days.”

After he wrapped on any outdoor shots for the day, Yang decided to try and get a few scenes inside a factory that plays a significant role in the film. While filming, Yang’s producer let him know that their production team in New York had reviewed the footage and figured out that the problem was a scanning issue.

“I am the luckiest person in the world,” Yang says. “All that footage was magical.”

He kept the reshoot dates intact with the new actors—just in case.

“So we would never have been able to do the shoot, but we got just enough stuff and that sequence cut together beautifully,” Yang says. “My DP turned to me and said, ‘This is insane. We never would’ve been able to finish the movie.’”

“People are looking to you. They’re looking to you, and they’re looking at you. And so you have to set the example,” Yang says. “I don’t give huge inspirational speeches. I’m not that kind of guy. But I try to lead by example.”

“When someone tells you that all of the shoot days are useless, that is a time when it probably is natural to yell and scream and blame someone and throw your phone and start firing people, frankly,” he continues. “I treated it with as much calm as I could and said, ‘How do we cross the next bridge? How do we fix this?’ Screaming at people is not going to fix the problem.”

Raven-Symone Urges Kiely Williams to Make Amends With Adrienne Bailon – LILLIE ROSS

‘Cause we are sisters, we stand together. Raven-Symoné encouraged her former Cheetah Girls costar Kiely Williams to reach out to Adrienne Bailon amid their public feud.

The 34-year-old That’s So Raven alum hopped on Live with Williams, 33, on Thursday, April 9, to discuss the Disney drama.

“Because of you I get to talk to you and heal a wound from that time period when we were younger that I probably wouldn’t get to do if I didn’t understand that you know what, you like to shake s—t up,” Raven began.

Williams then took the opportunity to ask the former View cohost why she didn’t participate in the third installment of The Cheetah Girls franchise in 2008: The Cheetah Girls: One World.

“The cliquish way that there was during that movie made me feel excluded from my original team,” she said. “Not that it was strong to begin with, but I felt excluded … We have other things that just led up to that moment that just were weird, personal outside of business.”

After Raven added that she would “never try to hurt” Williams, Bailon or Sabrina Bryan on purpose, the former 3LW singer accepted her apology.

“Well, I appreciate that, sweetheart, and I release any pain towards you that I have, and I cancel, clear and deleted it,” Williams said.

Raven subsequently called out Williams’ recent remarks about Bailon being a bad friend. (While discussing her first girl group with Bailon, 3LW, on Instagram Live on March 31, Williams accused the Real cohost of “pretending to be [her] best friend.”)

“You’ve gotta talk to Adrienne, dude,” the Raven’s Home star said. “Because you’re the fire cracker!”

Williams, however, wasn’t convinced.

”No, she didn’t come to my dad’s funeral or call me when he died,” Williams claimed. “I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be messy. I’m being for real with you, no. I’m sorry, I love you. I swear to God, nope. Come on. You can say what you want about me and how you felt about me, but you can’t ever say that I didn’t ride for Adrienne. You can’t say that. I didn’t do anything!”

While Raven tried to calm Williams down, she never committed to reaching out to Bailon, who has yet to publicly comment on the drama. Raven, meanwhile, spoke to Entertainment Tonight about potentially reuniting the group hours before her chat with Williams.

“I’m down with Adrienne whatever Adrienne’s down to do, I’m down,” she told the outlet on Thursday. “I will work with Adrienne for the rest of my life. She’s awesome sauce. I love everybody in their own ways. … It’s just, real girl groups have their moments. Imagine a fake one.”

Draya Michele Stuns In A Small White Bikini On Instagram

Draya Michele has kept busy during the COVID-19 pandemic and made multiple spicy Instagram posts over the past week. In her most recent photo she showcased her killer body in a small white bikini.

The former Basketball Wives star has kept fans engaged on social media while practicing social distancing as the majority of her posts have been from the comfort of her home. Similar to her last bikini shot, the model posed in front of a white brick wall.

This time she was seated on the bricks that outlined her pool and the reflection of the water could be seen glimmering on the left side of her body. The 35-year-old had a white theme in the picture as she sported a white bucket hat to match her bikini and the backdrop. Michele sat on her curvy backside for the scintillating snap and leaned with her arms behind her which only accentuated her curvaceous figure.

Her left leg was was folded and that offered a glimpse of the swimsuit bottoms with tiny straps, and showed off her pedicure which kept with the white theme. The model’s cleavage was on display in the bikini top and she stared into the camera with her signature pout. Michele’s skin popped against the white brick behind her, and she wore a gold bracelet on her left wrist.

Unlike many of her recent captions which preached the importance of staying at home, this one was a message about valuing the moment. More than 145,000 Instagram users found their way to the “like” button for the sultry post and the swimwear designer received over 1,200 comments. Model Tanaya Henry and designer Ja’Maal Buster showed their approval with fire and heart emojis.

Many fans flooded the comment section with heart-eye and drooling emojis while others responded to her caption about cherishing moments.

“You Could Never Be A MOMENT More Like A LIFETIME,” one follower replied.

“Well I value you and got so many pics of u for memories,” a fan wrote.

“Literally everything is a memory,” a female Instagram user commented.

“Id pay to be a brick smh,” another joked.

Michele’s 8 million followers were treated to more content in her Instagram story. The mother-of-two shared a photo of stuffed peppers she made for dinner along with a quick video of her son Jru Scandrick eating some. She also included a throwback bikini picture in her story.

As covered by The Inquisitr, earlier in the week the model posted a stunning shot in a barely there blue bikini.

Tamar Braxton ready to marry David Adefso

Tamar Braxton ready to marry David Adefso

Hey, just because everyone is in quarantine, it doesn’t mean celebrities aren’t getting the chance to spill the tea on their dating life. The Wendy Williams show has continued her show in her home. Using the power of some technology, Wendy Williams got American singer Tamar Braxton on the show. The singer ended up revealing just how happy she is in her relationship with David Adefso.

Tamar says she is even ready to marry David

The singer was gushing over her boyfriend and claims that she would even say yes if David Adefso was to propose to her right now. Though, she would require a ring:

I would love to have a family with David but like, we got to put a ring on it first. You know, Don’t want a bunch of baby daddys running around, that ain’t cute.  I already got one of those!

When Wendy asked Tamar Braxton if she would say yes if David proposed to her right now, her answer was interesting. The singer even said that she would even get married online if given the chance.

Wendy praised Tamar for not wanting a very glamorous wedding and keeping things simple. The singer even thinks that just her marrying David in the house would be romantic.

Tamar Braxton and David Adefso relationship is going strong!

It is no surprise that Tamar is completely ready to marry David right now considering they have been in a relationship since 2019. After splitting with her husband Vincent Herbert of almost 11 years, Tamar Braxton debuted her relationship with entrepreneur David Adefso. Initially, Tamar and David kept the relationship a secret. But they soon opened up and Tamar even took David to the ‘Braxton Family Values’ season 6 premiere. Moreover, he is also going to appear in the reality show ‘Tamar’.

‘Tamar’ is a spin-off show that is going to focus more on Tamar Braxton’s life excluding her ex-husband Vincent Herbert, and focusing more on her new relationship and she runs a successful business as a single mother.

Is Angelina Jolie Suing Jennifer Aniston? – DemotiX

For months, various media outlets have been reporting that Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt are planning to get back together. Now, new rumors say that Angelina Jolie, Pitt’s more recent ex-wife of the two star actresses, wants to sue Aniston.

Allegedly, she wants to take the “Friends” star to court and get back to her for everything that is currently going on between her and Brad. A new episode in the custody battle between Jolie and Pitt is scheduled to take place, but she also wants to use arguments connecting him to Aniston and win.

A source close to the situation said the following:

“Angelina is telling people that Jenn and Brad are going to pay for everything, and that she plans to take Aniston to court in order to check what she can with her lawyers.

The questions she would be asked would then help determine how Brad has been treating the children and whom he was seeing, hopefully giving Jolie full custody in the end. He would not be able to escape it.”
