Larry the Cable Guy destroys Hollywood celebrities over viral video of them singing ‘Imagine’

Comedian Larry the Cable Guy, whose real name is Daniel Whitney, blasted Hollywood celebrities this week over a viral video featuring more than a dozen celebrities signing John Lennon’s hit song “Imagine.”

Whitney highlighted the hypocritical nature of the video because Hollywood celebrities have largely ignored the homelessness epidemic in Los Angeles.

“Here’s a message from people with a lot of possessions that can take a year off of work and not flinch telling everyone outa work to imagine a world with no possessions while people are living in the street a half mile away from ’em,” Whitney said.

Responding to a fan who said the video really “pisses me off,” Whitney called the celebrities “clueless.”

On Friday, Whitney clarified that he does not harbor ill-will toward Hollywood celebrities, but said the video was made in “bad taste — and said the founder of communism would approve of it.

“I have no animosity toward these folks. The song was in bad taste. Marx would be proud of that song,” Whitney said. “And I’m not imagining no heaven. Jesus gives hope. Government can’t give people a heart change or hope.”

Although John Lennon was not a communist, nor is “Imagine” a song directly about communism, Lennon said the song “is virtually the Communist Manifesto.”

Cara Delevingne Favourite To Star In New James Bond Film – UNILAD

Now that whole debacle about Daniel Craig playing 007 is apparently out of the way, producers now have to decide who will play the next Bond Girl.

It’s a name that might surprise you considering the less than impressive track-record she’s had on screen in previous years.

This casting has really shaken things up, it’s really stirred the pot. Sorry.

Cara Delevingne is set to take up the mantle, according to Ross King on today’s Lorraine on ITV.

The model-turned-actress has apparently ‘impressed’ executives who are on the look out for the latest femme fatale.

While the casting decision would certainly turn a few heads, it’s not exactly obvious whether it would be for the right reasons.

Cara Delevingne received a lot of negative press for her *cough* acting *cough* in Suicide Squad, with many questioning why she was there in the first place.

But still, it seems the Bond bosses are really keen to get her on board.

A ‘movie studio source’ told the Mirror:

Her sizzling looks and ability to transform into many different characters on screen really gives her a unique edge. MGM mostly like to pick actresses just on the cusp of becoming big and helping that push, that is where is at.

Cara ticks many boxes. She appeals to a younger audience, has screen fighting experience and is English too. They also feel she could play a fierce spy working alongside the main protagonist who of course can play both sides.

This role would not be arm candy, but a kick ass strong character

It was also revealed on ITV’s Lorraine that Daniel Craig is pretty much a dead cert to return as everyone’s favourite spy.

This puts to bed speculation of a successor to the role after Craig reportedly said that he would rather “slit his wrists” than play Bond again.

It’s also great that they’re thinking about giving the Bond girl a more meaty role, whether it’s played by Delevingne or not.

To be fair, they say that every time and look how it turns out.

Disney Pixar’s ‘Onward’ Is Now Available To Stream At Home

Kids can now watch ‘Onward’ in their living rooms

Onward arrived in theaters just two weeks ago on March 6, but with mass closings of public facilities, Disney pulled it from theaters and opted to release it digitally instead.

Not only is Pixar’s Onward also already available for purchase, kids can stream it for free on Disney+ on April 3.

— Disney+ (@disneyplus) March 20, 2020

Disney announced in a press release that Onward will be listed as available for digital purchase starting March 20 at 8/7c on Xbox, the Playstation Store, and the Microsoft Store. Slash Film reports that FandangoNow and Vudu listed the Pixar film as being up for pre-order to watch soon. The film will be available for purchase for $19.99.

The animated film is just the latest to offer an early release in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Emma, Trolls World Tour, The Hunt, The Invisible Man, and Birds of Prey also announced early releases so fans can enjoy them while social distancing.

“While we’re looking forward to audiences enjoying our films on the big screen again soon, given the current circumstances, we are pleased to release this fun, adventurous film to digital platforms early for audiences to enjoy from the comfort of their homes,” director Dan Scanlon and producer Kori Rae said in a statement.

Disney already bumped up another Disney+ release for Frozen 2 with the goal of “surprising families with some fun and joy during this challenging period.” While it isn’t surprising the corporation would bump Onward, it’s very much appreciated by parents trying desperately to fill their kids’ days.

Onward made headlines several months back when Pixar announced it was officially introducing its first-ever animated LGBTQ character. Lena Waithe is voicing a self-identified LGBTQ character Cyclops cop by the name of Officer Specter, Rae confirmed the news to Yahoo Entertainment. “It just kind of happened,” she said during the interview. “The scene, when we wrote it, was kind of fitting and it opens up the world a little bit, and that’s what we wanted.”

A post shared by Lena Waithe (@lenawaithe) on

Onward, starring Chris Pratt and Tom Holland who play two elf brothers, is set in a fantasy universe with mystical creatures, including wizards and centaurs, who have lost their magic roots. Their journey is filled with magic spells, cryptic maps, challenging obstacles, and discoveries that are sure to keep kids and adults captivated (which we could all use right about now).

Thank you to Disney for giving our kids something to look forward to when their lives are being turned upside down.

Toilet Paper Brawls Convince The Dark Knight Fans That Joker Was Right

With so many people fighting over toilet paper in grocery stores across the United States, fans of The Dark Knight are starting to feel that Heath Ledger’s Joker was right all along. In a very memorable scene from the popular 2008 movie, Christian Bale’s Batman interrogates the Joker in an effort to glean more information from the supervillain by seeing what makes him tick. During the tense encounter, the Joker maintains that he’s really not so different from the rest of us, arguing that many others would head down a similar path as soon as they’re removed from their own comfort zones.

“See, their morals, their code, it’s a bad joke. They’re only as good as the world allows them to be,” Heath Ledger’s Joker explains to Batman in The Dark Knight. He adds: “I’ll show you. When the chips are down, these civilized people, they’ll eat each other. See, I’m not a monster, I’m just ahead of the curve.” In the movie, the dialogue serves as an eerie way for the supervillain to explain away his dastardly and terroristic crimes in Gotham City. Now, however, many fans of the movie are turning to social media to insist that maybe the Clown Prince of Crime’s words hit closer to home than we thought at the time.

Further emphasizing that point is a video floating around social media which edits in recent footage from grocery store brawls over toilet paper to the audio of Joker’s Dark Knight dialogue. There’s certainly something creepy about watching two people who appear to be very “ordinary” on the outside, looking like our very neighbors, turning to aggression and even violence over a package of Viva brand bath tissue in a small town grocery store. It would almost be humorous if it wasn’t so sad. You can see what I mean by watching the video in the tweet below.

Heath Ledger’s take on the Joker in The Dark Knight is still highly revered by Batman fans and filmgoers alike. Though he passed away before the movie was released, Ledger still posthumously earned an Oscar for his role for Best Supporting Actor. Although Joaquin Phoenix turned in his own Oscar-winning performance as the Joker in last year’s Joker movie from director Todd Phillips, many fans still prefer Ledger as the ultimate Clown Prince of Crime. That’s partially due to the unforgettable and iconic performance Ledger gave to the character, which many insist will never be beaten.

Still, for as popular as the character continues to be, I don’t believe anybody wants the Joker to be right, even if it feels that he is. Perhaps his words can be seen as a warning, reminding us that it’s better for us to take care of one another rather than turning on each other over toilet paper. The coronavirus pandemic is affecting us all, so perhaps we should aim to be more like Batman and the Justice League by looking to get through the dark situation together. You can see what other Dark Knight fans are saying about the Joker being right by looking at the tweets below.

Dolly Parton Pays Tearful Tribute To Her “Friend and Singing Partner” Kenny Rogers | Whiskey Riff

Oh man, when Dolly Parton cries it hits you hard.

After news came out of the passing of country legend Kenny Rogers earlier today, Dolly Parton posted a tribute to her “friend and singing partner on her social media while holding a picture of the two legends on stage together.

You never know how much you love somebody until they’re gone. I’ve had so many wonderful years and wonderful times with my friend Kenny, but above all the music and the success I loved him as a wonderful man and a true friend. pic.twitter.com/hIQLIvt8pr

— Dolly Parton (@DollyParton) March 21, 2020

Dolly and Kenny of course had the iconic duet, “Islands in the Stream,” which they sang together for the last time at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena in 2017 at Kenny’s last show.

Watching the way they interacted on stage, with Dolly playfully swatting away Kenny’s arm and then putting their arms around each other, you can see how much these two meant to each other.

Two legends of country music, performing one of the biggest songs in country music together for the last time.

We need to appreciate and take the opportunity to see these legends when we can.

Because yet again, today we’re reminded that they won’t be around forever.

Harvey Weinstein Tests Positive in Prison for Coronavirus (Report)

Harvey Weinstein has tested positive for coronavirus just weeks into his 23-year prison sentence for sexual assault, according to the Niagara Gazette.

Officials told the paper that the disgraced producer was one of two individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 at Wende Correctional Facility, where Weinstein was transferred to on Wednesday from Rikers Island. Representatives for Weinstein said they were unable to confirm that he has contracted the virus and New York State’s Department of Corrections says it “cannot confirm an individual’s medical record.”

On February 24, Weinstein was found guilty of sexually assaulting former “Project Runway” production assistant Miriam Haleyi and raping former actress Jessica Mann, and was sentenced to 23 years in prison.

News of his infection comes as medical officials have voiced grave concerns that prisons could become hotbeds for rapid spread of the coronavirus due to close contact between inmates, urging for some prisoners to be released. The New York State Department of Corrections reported on Saturday that at least 38 have tested positive for COVID-19 in the state’s prisons.

Over 11,000 positive cases have been reported in New York with 60 deaths, while over 320,000 positive cases and over 13,000 deaths have been reported so far worldwide.

Rita Wilson Rapping Hip Hop Hooray From Quarantine Is The Update Everyone Was Waiting For – UNILAD

Rita Wilson Rapping Hip Hop Hooray From Quarantine Is The Update Everyone Was Waiting For

by : Lucy Connolly on : 22 Mar 2020 18:49

Ever since we found out Rita Wilson and husband Tom Hanks tested positive for COVID-19, fans around the world have been waiting patiently for updates on the couple’s condition.

So far, those updates have tended to come from Hanks: in the form of selfies, public service announcements, or horrifying images which prove just how much Vegemite the actor puts on his toast.

Now though, Wilson has gotten in on the action, posting an incredible video of her rapping Hip Hop Hooray by Naughty By Nature while in self-isolation.

For those wondering whether she did the full rap – all four minutes of it – I can confirm that yes, yes she did. And impressively, I don’t think she made a single mistake in that time. Or none that I could spot anyway.

Wilson started the video – posted to Instagram – by pretending to read sci-fi novel Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, when all of a sudden the 1992 hip hop hit started playing in the background.

The actor then proceeded to rap along with the hip hop trio, complete with a few head nods and hand gestures, before picking up her book again once the song has finished.

Wilson captioned the video, ‘Quarantine Stir Crazy. See it to believe it,’ implying she’s had a lot of spare time to truly hone her rapping skills. But hey, at least she’s not spending her time eating a ridiculous amount of Vegemite, right?

Obviously, everybody loved her efforts, with many Hollywood A-listers getting in on the action and commenting on her post to praise her.

Jennifer Aniston commented: ‘Yessssssss R Greeky!’ while Kris Jenner exclaimed: ‘OMG Rita I Love you!!!! Please come home!!!!!!!’. Jools Holland described her performance as ‘brilliant’ while model Karlie Kloss applauded her and left a ‘crown’ emoji.

Wilson and Hanks first informed fans they’d been diagnosed with coronavirus earlier this month, with Hanks taking to social media to update their followers on the situation.

The couple revealed they had contracted COVID-19 while filming in Australia, with Hanks posting on Twitter to thank the ‘Helpers’ for the care he and Rita were receiving.

He later checked in with fans again, this time on Instagram, confirming they were in self-isolation with symptoms ‘much the same’. He wrote: ‘No fever but the blahs. Folding the laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the couch.’

The actor ended his post by urging his followers to ‘flatten the curve’, writing: ‘We are all in this together.’

Hopefully, both he and Rita will make a full and speedy recovery, but in the meantime we can all do our bit by following the actor’s advice and flattening the curve: by staying inside and putting the needs of others before our own.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by coronavirus and the families of those who have lost their lives.

It’s okay to not panic. I’m scared of remarrying after three failed marriages – Shan George – AkPraise

Nollywood veterann actress, Shan George who has been married thrice and divorced has disclosed that she is scared of giving marriage a try again.

In an interview with The Sun’s “Inside Nollywood”, the 49-year-old grandmother stated that it might take someone who truly sees her as a “sister for anything marriage to happen again.”

Shan George wrote;

“Marriage! Hmmm… to be fair, one of the reasons that would make me not to consider marrying again is that I am scared. I am an only child and all my life, I have always defended myself by myself, because it was just me. When people bully me, I man up and challenge them.

“So, right now, little things that seem like a threat to me, I could possibly overreact. It might have to take someone who truly sees me as a sister for anything marriage to happen again. I am just scared, let me carry my cartons of trouble and maintain my lane.”

Idris Elba’s wife tests positive for coronavirus, tells Oprah why she stayed with him

Sabrina Dwhore Elba revealed Sunday that she tested positive for coronavirus after choosing not to quarantine away from her husband, actor Idris Elba.

The couple explained their decision to stay together in an interview with Oprah Winfrey through FaceTime for an episode of “Oprah Talks: COVID-19” on Apple TV. The couple received criticism online after they posted a video explaining Idris Elba’s confirmed test results, with his wife sitting close by.

Sabrina Elba told Winfrey that it was her choice to stay with her husband, though medical experts have advised that those who test positive for coronavirus isolate away from others to slow the spread.

“I could have made the decision to put myself maybe in a separate room or stay away, and I’m sure that people are making those decisions. And they’re tough decisions to make,” Sabrina Elba said. “But I made the decision to want to be with him, and you know, still touch him.”

Idris Elba explained that the couple had been together on the day of his probable exposure to the person who he was in contact with that tested positive, and had been together until he left to begin filming a new movie.

“If I had caught it, she had certainly caught it in that time period as well,” Idris Elba told Oprah. “People were right to have highlighted that spatial distancing is important. I think given the context of the video, which was telling the world what has happened to us, we weren’t thinking about that specifically.”

Both say they feel well and have not experienced symptoms of COVID-19, the disease associated with coronavirus. Sabrina Elba said that she feels the equivalent of seasonal allergies that might be symptoms, but she feels fine overall.

They both acknowledged that they could still fall ill at any point.

The “Luther” and “The Wire” actor first revealed he tested positive after being exposed on Monday and has posted updates on his social media for fans. Idris Elba has used his platform, which includes nearly 3 million Twitter followers, to inform people on the seriousness of the pandemic.

In a video Tuesday, he pointed out commenters who spread the false rumor that black people can’t catch the coronavirus. Idris Elba reiterated the message to stop misinformation to Winfrey on Sunday.

“I’d rather go out with a positive, knowing that other people benefitted from, you know, the messaging that we’re trying to put out,” Idris Elba said. “You know, stop trolling people, stop sending misinformation. Stop, you know, writing these incredible stories about, you know, conspiracy theories.”
