Here’s the Latest List of Celebrities Elon Musk Has Scared Off of Twitter

The exodus of left-wing celebrities continues on Twitter, as the nation’s high-profile performers appear woefully trapped in the delusion that where they chose to vent their personal opinions about politics is of the remotest consequence to us plebs and laypeople.

Shonda Rhimes, Gigi Hadid and Amber Heard top the list of names of those caught up in the mass exit — by virtue of the fact that I’m vaguely aware of who they are and what they’re known for — with Whoopi Goldberg and Toni Braxton serving as perhaps the most well-known of the grumpy brunch.

These moderately big names are joined by a host of B- to D-listers ranging from actors to writers to stage performers, all of whom appear to have an inflated sense of their importance on the platform, and roughly none of whom I’ve ever heard of before (except for rocker Jack White, whose current cultural relevance I nonetheless seriously doubt).

The tech tantrums, of course, have been caused by the acquisition of Twitter on the part of billionaire and provocateur Elon Musk, who recently allowed users of his new asset to determine, via Twitter poll, if former President Donald Trump should be allowed back on the platform after his account was permanently suspended in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incursion.

Vox Populi, Vox Dei

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) November 19, 2022

Trump has yet to tweet on the platform as he remains committed to his alternative social media site, Truth Social, but the mere restoration of his notorious account has apparently been too much to handle for many leftist, including the rich and (slightly) famous.

Business Insider recently rounded up the latest list, topped in its estimation by Rhimes and including singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, producer Ken Olin, actress Téa Leoni (oh, I remember her!), showrunner Brian Koppelman, and former pro-wrestler Mick Foley.

Many tweeted out their plans to exit on accounts that appear fully active — smart, since simply leaving the platform without saying anything would hardly make for good virtue-signaling:

Not hanging around for whatever Elon has planned. Bye.

— shonda rhimes (@shondarhimes) October 29, 2022

Welp. It’s been fun Twitter. I’m out. See you on other platforms, peeps. Sorry, this one’s just not for me. â€đŸ™đŸŒ

— Sara Bareilles (@SaraBareilles) October 30, 2022

Hey all –
I’m out of here. No judgement.
Let’s keep the faith.
Let’s protect our democracy.
Let’s try to be kinder.
Let’s try to save the planet.
Let’s try to be more generous.
Let’s look to find peace in the world.
💙

— Ken Olin (@kenolin1) October 28, 2022

I’m shocked and appalled at some of the “free speech” I’ve seen on this platform since its acquisition. Hate speech under the veil of “free speech” is unacceptable; therefore I am choosing to stay off Twitter as it is no longer a safe space for myself, my sons and other POC.

— Toni Braxton (@tonibraxton) October 29, 2022

To my friends on Twitter, I will be taking a step back from the platform for now.

Connect with me on Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram to stay informed and hear my latest personal and professional updates.

— Sully Sullenberger (@Captsully) November 9, 2022

To be fair, there were some celebrities who actually left Twitter — according to Business Insider: Jack White shared an open letter to Elon Musk on Instagram, still safely owned by the progressive technocrats over at Meta. Amber Heard, who briefly dated Musk, deleted her account, and Gigi Hadid made sure to let her Instagram followers know she’d deactivated hers.

Koppelman demurely moved his account to private (take that, free speech absolutists!), and “The Amazing Spider-Man” comic creator Erik Larsen deleted his account after sharing in April that this was the course he would take if Musk completed his deal to purchase Twitter.

Singer Liz Phair and actors David Dastmalchian and Jenny Slate deactivated their accounts, too.

And
 life goes on.

There’s plenty to say about whether or not Musk’s takeover of Twitter will produce any fruit and what a future with an activated @RealDonaldTrump will hold for America and the world, but one thing’s certain: Pretty much nothing changed by these celebrities leaving the platform in a huff.

Should Trump start tweeting again?

Amandla Stenberg gets called out by film critic after actress criticizes her | Daily Mail Online

New York Times film critic Lena Wilson has called out actress Amandla Stenberg on social media.

Lena revealed she received a direct message on her Instagram from Amandla about the review she did for the film Bodies Bodies Bodies.

Amandla, who came out as gay in 2018, had taken offense for Lena’s copy that referred to cleavage, however the actress did call her NYT review ‘great.’

Lena’s review referring to the cleavage was one sentence, which read: ‘The only thing that really sets Bodies Bodies apart is its place in the A24 hype machine, where it doubles as a 95-minute advertisement for cleavage and Charli XCX’s latest single.’

Speaking out: New York Times film critic Lena Wilson has called out actress Amandla Stenberg on Twitter. Lena revealed she received a direct message on her Instagram from Amandla about the review she did for the film Bodies, Bodies Bodies Bodies

In 2018, Amandla said to Wonderland Magazine: ‘I was so overcome with this profound sense of relief when I realized that I’m gay. Not bi, not pan[sexual] but gay – with a romantic love for women. All of these things that felt so internally contrary to my truest self were rectified as I unraveled a long web of denial and self-deprivation.’

Lena, who is a lesbian, also tweeted: ‘Always weird when the homophobia is coming from inside the house but this is something,’ referring to the fact that they are both part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Lena pointed out that Amandla appeared to only zero in on her and not any other film critic.

Lena shared the DM from Amandla on her Twitter and TikTok.

In the DM, Amandla wrote: ‘Ur review was great, maybe if you had gotten ur eyes off my t**s you could’ve watched the movie!’

The latest: Amandla, who came out as gay in 2018, had taken offense for Lena’s copy that referred to cleavage, however the actress did call her review ‘great;’ pictured August 2 in NYC at the Bodies Bodies Bodies premiere

What was said: Lena shared the DM from Amandla on her Twitter and TikTok

Lena responded back to Amandla: ‘hey, Amandla! generally a big fan of your work, but this sure is something. really wishing you well in your career and life. have a nice night.’

The film critic then blocked the star on Instagram, as seen in the DM screenshot.

Lena also tweeted: ‘Do you think she Instagram DM’d Alison Willmore, Justin Chang and Anthony Lane like this or,’ adding the DM screenshot.

She also tweeted: ‘Always weird when the homophobia is coming from inside the house but this is something.’

From Twitter: She also tweeted about the message as well, noting that she only seemed to received a message about her review

Lena wrote another tweet: ‘me: (spends one line of a 500-word review facetiously commenting on how A24 objectifies young women to sell content). Random men on twitter dot com and also, apparently, Amandla Stenberg: Local d**e Cannot Stop Talking About Boobies.’

A24 is the distributor of the film.

She also took to TikTok and shared a video: ‘I haven’t been on here in a while but I was just checking my Instagram DMs because a really lovely kind person informed me that Jennifer’s Body is playing in 35mm at the Roxy this weekend. If you’re in New York you have to absolutely go to that. There are a disgusting amount of tickets left.’

Words: She also took to TikTok and shared a vide

‘I looked at my DM request and found this which I’m going to let speak for itself for a little bit. For context I have reviewed Bodies Bodies Bodies for the New York Times and I really didn’t like and I said so. Ironically I praised the acting though.’

‘I don’t want anything else to come from this, I’m devastated to have received this message in the first place. I was a genuine huge fan of hers but I’m posting it because I don’t want this person who has more social power than me to think that it’s f****n okay to do something like this. And that’s all.’

She captioned the TikTok: ‘Unfathomably weird to get “I don’t want you in the locker room while I’m changing” bullying from a whole other lesbian.’

Bodies Bodies Bodies is a comedy horror, directed by Halina Reijn.

Amandla stars alongside Maria Bakalova, Pete Davidson, Chase Sui Wonders, Lee Pace and Myha’la Herrold in the project.

Resident Evil Season 2 Is Looking ‘Highly Unlikely’

Resident Evil Season 2 is looking “highly unlikely”, at least, according to one of our sources with very close ties to Netflix, which is interesting news. The series was released on the streaming platform last month, and it got a lot of attention online, but not really for the right reasons.

We’ve been trying to find out what’s going on with Resident Evil for quite some time now. However, it wasn’t until recently that we finally got some news on the current status of the show’s second season. The show is based on a series of video games by Capcom, and the games are among some of the very best survival horror video games ever made.

However, no live-action adaptation of the video games has ever been successful. We had the Paul W.S Anderson movies, which starred his wife, Milla Jovovich. They weren’t great. The first couple were OK, but they weren’t very good adaptations of the games.

We then had the movie Welcome To Racoon City, which was released last year. That movie was genuinely terrible. all hope rested on the shoulders of this Netflix series. The Netflix series was developed by Andrew Dabb, and I had a lot of hope for this show.

However, the series was released, and it really left a lot to be desired. The series went down, in my opinion, as one of the big disappointments of this year. Judging by our readers’ comments on our website and across our social media accounts, people did not think much of this new Netflix horror show.

Resident Evil Season 2 might not happen on Netflix

Anyway, let’s get onto what our source had to say about whether Season 2 is going to happen or not. Here’s what they had to say on the matter:

Second season [of Resident Evil] is looking very unlikely at the moment. Still no official decision on it yet. [The] show’s fate is hanging by a string.

Judging by that response to our question, it really doesn’t sound good for the show’s second season and its showrunner, Andrew Dabb. He’s not been quiet about wanting to do more seasons of the series. In an interview with ComicBook.com, he explained:

The games are our backstory. Everything that happened in the games exists in this world. So like, the village is there. We might not get there ’til season 5, but it is in our world.

Moreover, it seems like he’s even got a story in mind for Season 2. Dabb noted in an interview with Screen Rant that the second season would “100%” feature an appearance from Ada Wong.

Will Netflix try something new with the property?

Netflix’s Resident Evil series starred Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola NĂșñez and Lance Reddick. The cast was actually quite good. The show’s issues had nothing to do with their acting abilities.

I actually quite liked seeing Lance Reddick do his stuff as all the clones he plays in the series. In the show, he plays Al Wesker, Jade and Billie’s father, Bert Wesker, Jade and Billie’s uncle and Al’s brother, Alby Wesker, Al and Bert’s deceased brother and Albert Wesker, a rogue Umbrella operative who created several clones of himself.

That’s a lot of people to play, and he does a good job at making us believe that he’s actually playing multiple characters. The issue with this show was really all to do with its story.

I actually thought that the show looked really good. It’s easily one of the best-looking Resident Evil live-action adaptations we’ve ever seen. Some of the CGI was terrific. I’m thinking specifically of that scene with the giant caterpillar-looking thing that’s been infected with the T-virus.

There was so much promise for this series, and unfortunately, it fell short. It’s a good example of how vital story is when making these sorts of shows.

The show saw a huge drop in viewership after its first week

The show had a huge headstart on other series that aren’t based on hugely popular franchises. So, it was no surprise when the show did very well upon its release. The series was on many of Netflix’s Top ten shows lists around the globe. However, it saw a huge decline in popularity after its initial release on the streaming platform.

The first weekend was very promising for the show. It’s ended up scoring 72 million hours in its first three days on the service. However, in week 2, the show fell to the number 2 spot, but it was still watched for 73 million hours.

Then, its third week on Netflix was when it saw a huge drop in popularity. The series saw a hefty 63% drop in viewing hours globally, which is not good, and that tends to be a good indication of whether subsequent seasons of the show will be greenlit by Netflix or not.

We can compare the show’s numbers to other series, such as Archive 81, First Kill and Cowboy Bebop, which were all cancelled by Netflix. All of those shows saw big drops in weeks 2 to 3. The only thing that sets Resident Evil apart from those other shows is that it had a bigger launch than the others.

However, it ended up having a sharper drop in viewership than Archive 81. That show was actually very popular with viewers, Resident Evil hasn’t been so popular.

Manchester United agree ÂŁ70m deal to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid midfielder

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign Brazil midfielder Casemiro in a deal worth up to ÂŁ70m.

The 30-year-old has been with Real since 2013, winning three La Liga titles and five Champions Leagues.

The fee is an initial ÂŁ60m plus ÂŁ10m in add-ons and Casemiro will sign a four-year deal with the option of one more.

United are bottom of the Premier League and host Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday.

Casemiro is set to become one of the United’s top earners once he completes his move, and will be United’s fourth signing after midfielder Christian Eriksen, full-back Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord and defender Lisandro Martinez.

After talks to sign Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot collapsed over the player’s demands, United have turned their attention to Casemiro as they look to address weaknesses in Erik ten Hag’s midfield.

This deal almost certainly spells the end of Manchester United’s pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

Whilst the club are not completely ruling out signing the Dutchman at some point in the future, they admit it is highly unlikely they would get De Jong and Casemiro in the same window.

The transfer will come too late for Casemiro to be involved in Monday’s game against Liverpool.

Casemiro’s impact can be seen by looking at Opta statistics to compare his figures against those of other central midfielders in La Liga last season.

The Brazil international ranked first for successful blocks, second for tackles made behind Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets, and also came third overall for possession won. Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino was first and Busquets runner-up in the latter category.

He also contributed to Real’s attacks, ranking fifth for forward passes and joint-sixth for shots among the league’s central midfielders.

Casemiro spent a season away from the Bernabeu on loan at Portuguese side Porto in 2014-15 but returned to Spain the following season after Real activated his buy-back clause.

He has made 222 appearances for the Spanish giants and scored 24 goals.

Blake Shelton Says Family Is His No. 1 Priority Now

One year after marrying Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton is making it clear that she’s No. 1. The “No Body” singer says music and television work are just not urgent priorities like they used to be.

The result might be new music at a slower pace from Shelton, who spoke to Entertainment Tonight about it all.

“I’m having fun putting out songs when I feel like it, and luckily, the record label allows me to do that,” he says.

“No Body” is Shelton’s first new single released in 2022, after averaging two a year for five years and up to four in 2014-16. Body Language is his latest album, released in May of 2021. That was his first album of all new material since 2017. Before that, he averaged an album a year for six years. Two seasons of The Voice each year definitely slowed him down, but now he’s focused on his household.

“Look, I love music and I love The Voice,” the 46-year-old tells ET. “I love all the cool things I get to do with my job, but those things all take a backseat now to Gwen and the kids, and it’s just a new phase of my life.”

While Shelton doesn’t have any kids of his own, he’s been an active part of Stefani’s three boys’ (Kingston, Apollo and Zuma) lives. The spend significant time on his ranch in Oklahoma, and seem to be thriving in the rural environment after being raised primarily in Los Angeles before.

Next month, Shelton will be able to combine all of his priorities. He and Stefani are set to serve as coaches on the 22nd season of The Voice, starting Sept. 19 on NBC. The country singer is the only coach who’s been on the panel each season, beginning in 2011.

So, Shelton is slowing the output of new music, but not turning off the spout.

“I wanna keep my music side of what I do alive from now ’til they [the fans] fire me,” he says.

Saveus – Roskilde Festival 2022 – Flemming Bo Jensen

I remember Martin (Saveus) secretly telling me about this Roskilde Festival concert way back in November 2019, and finally one pandemic and two and a half years later in 2022 Roskilde Festival is able to go ahead with Saveus booked to play the big Arena stage. It felt almost unreal to stand on the Arena stage and think back to that moment in 2019, a lifetime ago.

The concert was an epic trip through Saveus’ old and new (some unreleased) songs and with a wonderful crowd really responding to the emotion and energy on stage. Martin’s outstanding voice brought on the goosebumps and just like other Danish artists I documented such as Jada, it was quite emotional to be part of a concert that I know an artist have waited so long for during a pandemic that was especially tough times for the music- and event industry.

This was also a really fun and challenging shoot, Martin bounces around the big stage full of energy and the lights were great but equally hyper active. I was not so hyper active as I got home at 5am from the gigs at Roskilde the day before, that is the thing about festival jobs, you normally arrive dead tired but then adrenaline takes over once the music starts! The Arena tent is I think the largest indoor tent stage in Europe and houses at least 20,000 people and it was a thrill to have full access and really be able to show what it is like to play this stage. The view from the stage is really something special, and felt very cinematic so I have created my photo story with ‘cinestill’ inspired look and cinematic panoramas.

Finally, I recommend you listen to the fantastic new single Rain Man from Saveus, join Saveus backstage and get ready to go on stage:
